What exactly is "bouncing’ and why couldn’t she do it? That is what she said, right?
I had to rewatch that… She said “mouth it”, like “lip it” (ie. hold it by the lip/mouth). She likes to lip the fish and let them go. I just wanted to get the fish back in the water ASAP. It was stressed enough the past couple days, plus swimming around with that snagged hook in its eye for God knows how long!
Funny, a lot of the ‘trout snobs’ would toss that bass in the bushes. They hate them because they crowd out the trout. In this stream, the smallies have outcompeted them for sure. The herring come up to spawn, then the bass gorge on the juvies as they hatch and swim back down toward the tidal water.
I’ve gotten huge sea-run brown trout right in this area as well as Striped Bass that are in for the spawn (usually June-October).

Wow. I misheard that
Ah yes…the circle of life.
Thanks for posting it. It reminds me that I need to get girl out there.

That’s a lot of heavy bench, Steely. Looking strong.
How are you doing the 245x15 +5 +3 +2? Are you taking a set breather and then picking the weight back up again? Or just going by feel?
Thx LS- Yep, I’m doing them in small sets. I guess RP, but for some reason a few weeks ago, I decided that I was going to move weight up in sets of 20 reps after my “531” bench. So I go for 20, rack weight if I don’t get it. Sit for 10 seconds or so, rep out again. Repeat.
(edit: that’s 15 + 3 + 2 = 20 reps, not 15+5+3+2…
I’m trying to get more tension time, plus I really have to fight for those last reps. I finish the set heaving a bit, too, so I imagine that’s like pretend cardio or something

Thx KMC!
Good deal. If it goes like everything else you do, it will work wonders.
“Pretend cardio”?? Nah…it’s cardio. Heck, around here, a heavy sigh counts as cardio.

Now that’s a workout. Bench is impressive but the overhead tri exts are really up there. BTW, I ate the bass’ cousin the other day. Sorry.
Thanks HEL. The real hard part about the tri-OH extensions is getting the damn thing in place and into a stable stance without it pulling me back into the machine (which is HIGHLY embarrassing, but no doubt entertaining to watch… cough …).
No worries on the fish. I’m a fish killer. I know because I’ve been called “fish killer” for keeping trout in front of a T.U. nazi. Want to have fun? Go to a Trout Unlimited meeting and ask for trout recipes. Maybe it’s just the old New Englanders…

congratulations Steely!!! our greatest gift from God are our children. mine’s almost 4 and i still think it’s a dream.
Thanks man. I agree, it never gets old seeing these little babies get born. I was right in there 3 times, cut three cords.
This one was bittersweet because we lost one before this and we’re that much more aware of how precious and fragile these little ones are.
I won’t post a pic because of some dickery that has gone on on this site, but I drew a picture of her.
(pic is not showing up…)
In regards to the dickery comment. Is is me or do we just seem to have the ability in this forum, at least, to discourage the trolls. Must be cuz we’re real mature. Yea, I said it!!!

YEAH! We’re mature– we’re not poopyhead fart-face booger eaters like those dingleberries in some other forums!
