Looks like my “only fans” is on its way. Lol.
It looks like tomorrow is going to be a rest day. My right knee is not great and I think I might have strained something in my right lower back. Sigh.

Thats not good to hear. What are you doing about the knee ? RICE ?
Rest and ibuprofen. The knee is a sharp pain when I squat down or go down stairs. It’s ok if I’m walking or just standing. I think I just pissed something off. It’s better than it was this morning, but still not great. The lower back is making everything more difficult. I had trouble taking my socks off. ![]()
my back, butt and leg doms was so bad this morning I had a nightmare trying to get my socks on. LOL I am hobbling around the house like a pensioner today. Hopefully you feel better after a little rest.
I have no idea what I’m going to do tomorrow morning. I don’t think I’m going to try S&S. I’m super nervous with this weird pain I’m getting in my knee. Maybe some light complexes? Probably. We will have to see how it goes.

I went very light and very easy. The movement felt pretty good on my back and I even felt something pop in my low spine (in a good way). The squats were very slow and I didn’t go super deep like I normally would but there was no sharp pain and very limited discomfort in the knee. I think I will probably stick with this for a week or so. Just enough to keep moving, but not enough to make things worse. As I’m sitting here I am noticing that the tightness in my back is easing up quite a bit. Maybe whatever popped is allowing that muscle to relax.
I think if I’m going to stick with S&S I might have to ease in a bit more. Perhaps jumping in with both feet was a bad plan. I’ll back down the rounds until I’m more comfortable. I’ll add in some walks throughout the week since the weather is improving. If it continues to be problematic I will reevaluate.
I got into the damned raisins again last night. I really have to work on that!
Today is a good day.
I raise you my daughters uneaten easter choc stash. Your choice is far better ![]()
Haha. Funny you should say that. I just walked in the door and my son said “where did all the cookies go?” He looked at my guilty face and said “are you kidding me? There were like 5 left. I can’t believe you ate them all!” So now I have to make more cookies. ![]()

I felt about 96 years old when I got out of bed this morning. So that was fun. Now I feel about 72. Hopefully by the end of the day I will feel closer to 50. The complex felt good to move through. My press very much limits the weight I can use in complexes which is good when I’m not feeling 100%. It forces me to take it easy. Hopefully I’ll be back to feeling good next week.
This weekend is gonna be a busy one. My yard is an absolute disaster. I have to mow and weed and finally get some mulch put down. We are seriously the trashy yard neighbor at this point. I also have to go get some work done in the money pit. I had hoped to be moved in by early summer, but that isn’t looking great at the moment.
Happy Friday everyone! Happy Saturday to those of you who are already there! ![]()
Today is a good day.
I got a story that will help you feel better here.
I’ve worked shifts almost my whole career, to include “24 hour shifts” where we got to work with a crew partner and one could be in rest status while the other manned the console, and then we’d swap off.
My wife has always been incredible, to include throughout my whole career, and would always send me with a batch of baked goods for my work shifts. The idea was, I could offer some to the people that we were relieving on shift, my crewpartner and I could have some during the shift, and then the oncoming shift that relieves us can have the rest. Suffice it to say, people liked when I was on shift, because it meant they got baked goods.
I was once out with a guy that had a VERY restrictive organic/vegan diet. I’m not one to judge: I have a weird diet. My wife had made an entire batch of brownies for the shift (like, however many brownies you get out of a cakepan worth of brownies). I’m about to go to sleep and I say “Hey man, I know you eat a certain way, but I wanted to let you know my wife made brownies, and you’re more than welcome to have some while I sleep”. He said thanks, I went to sleep.
I wake up 6-ish hours later…and they’re gone. The ziplock bag that was holding them just has crumbs.
I look at him, not upset, but just amazed and go “Dude…I thought you only ate organic?”
He offered the best reply I’d ever heard: “Organic…and brownies”
I spent the rest of our workshift curious if I’d have to call medics on him for entering into a diabetic coma.
I think this might be the best diet ever.
I actually felt really bad last night after the cookie fiasco. I told my husband I was feeling sick and I was pretty sure it was from the sugar overload. (Cookies weren’t the only dietary crime committed last night).
This is kinda the nice thing about being “on program”. Your gut bacteria adjusts and your blood sugar stabilizes and it actually perpetuates sustained and continued excellence. You sneak a cheat and your body goes “NO”, and enough times touching the hot stove you start to no longer WANT the cheat any more.
I remember my very first “rampage meal” ala Jamie Lewis, where I went to Panda Express and had a 3 entree with fried rice, orange chicken, bejing beef and honey walnut shrimp. Those were all my favorite entrees that I used to eat ALL the time, and I loved Panda’s fried rice. This was a weekend lunch, out with the family and the in-laws, followed by some shopping. 20 minutes after the meal, my eyes went blurry and teared up, like a severe allergic reaction, and I was trying to lay down and take a nap at Kohl’s like a bear that was shot with a tranq dart. I had NEVER reacted that way before…and that’s when I started the shift towards eating my WIFE’S cooking/baking, that she had been diligently making for years and I had kept denying like some sort of idiot.
My husband and I had a similar experience the last time we went out for Mexican. It was probably a year ago at this point, but we both got home and just crashed hard. We both paid rather severely in the morning as well. We haven’t been back since. My body has reached a tipping point. I can handle a tiny bit of the bad stuff, but it doesn’t take much to destroy me. Sugar makes me feel hungover and anything that is bread based, pasta or deep fried turns me into a giant air pinata.
Thats better than an ice cream fast.
I feel like this is an old tnation “hold up a shoe” type joke
With the way I feel today, I think you may have had a point here…
It will be if I have anything to do with it!
I feel ya.

I get drunk on pizza.
