Once more with feeling

Oh good. Would be embarrassing to find that I have been misrepresenting my lifts for several weeks now. Lol. I’ve been avoiding that lift for years. Not sure why. I think I thought I would injure my shoulder. But it is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

I’m a little late, but nice work! Way to tell that cold to suck it.

The real win here, it was spent with family.

Home maintenance and Christmas decorating day. Made a super yummy chicken teriyaki and rice dinner tonight. (Cauliflower teriyaki for the vegitarian). Everyone seemed happy.
Can’t kick the cough and congestion. It’s exceptionally irritating.
Tomorrow is deadlift day.
Today was a good day.

Not a bad session. It feels good to be back at it after a week of feeling crappy.
Got a bit of the Christmas decorations up this weekend. Hopefully I will get it finished up this week. In the mean time I have one of two trees done and my disco Santa. (My gift from my boys last year).

I love the Santa so much, and will be keeping an eye out for something similar.

I’m glad you’re feeling better.

Circuit workout

Kettlebell swings 15#
Push-ups on knees
Varied core work

20 down to 1.

The roads and sidewalks are to icy for a morning run. I don’t mind running in the cold, but I’m too old to bounce back from eating pavement. I really do enjoy this circuit and it helped clear out my lungs a bit. I am still hacking up goo in the morning but it is definitely improving.
Today is a good day.

This is very similar to Dan John’s “Humane Burpee”, which you may dig in other situations

You can also make it more challenging by starting with 10s on the squats and push ups instead of 5s.

And I, too, evaluate goodness of days based on degree of employment of AK-47s…

It’s difficult to type it with the proper emphasis to really feel the statement, but I’m glad you recognize it.

@simo74 I was looking through the old T-ransformation photos and my son yells “Mom! Stop looking at guys in their underwear! Dad, mom is looking at guys in their underwear.” My husband replied" I’m sure she is." Your log made me think of it, but I didn’t want to muck up your log with more talk of nearly naked men. Lol

That made me laugh. The even funnier thing is that is also what my kids say to me, ‘dad why are you looking at men in their undies?’ LOL

Weird how much time some of you like to spend looking at dudes in their underpants.

That was purely for T-ransformation research. Otherwise would never. I am too pure of heart and mind. :innocent::innocent:

DB incline Bench Press

Admittedly doing 40,000 push-ups the day before my bench day might have been ill advised. But I still beat my reps at 80# from last time so I’m ok with it. Moving forward I will do my push-up circuit on Mondays instead of Wednesday.
I’m feeling better being back to tracking my food. I like knowing where I am each day.

I’m working on setting goals for the new year. My goal until the end of the year is continued progress in my lifts. I still have some extra fat to get rid of, so that might be a goal to work towards after the holidays. I’m also trying to find some realistic lifting goals. For the bench I would be thrilled if I could get past 100# and 200# for my deadlift. I’m not sure where I want to be with anything else beyond that.

Today is a good day.

I’m starting to feel fairly comfortable in this program. In a good way. I’m more comfortable adjusting my weights in the assistance work. I’m going to start adding some conditioning routines to replace my running for the time being. I am really enjoying the time in the gym but have no motivation to go out in the cold at 4:30 in the morning to run. So I will pivot for the moment.
