Just read you hooked up with Pete on the trip to Minn., sounded like a good time. Enjoy the all star festivities.
Someday you need to teach me how to squat.

TRX face pulls

I can’t make these feel “right” for the life of me. Every time I think they are “almost” there, but the external rotation aspect is sort of “off”. Enough folks seem to like them though so I will try a few more times before I put them in “lead hand uppercut territory” and just come up with excuses why I don’t learn them.

That was funny, and I have to agree. Is there a pro fighter who actually does the “lead hand uppercut”?
[/quote]
I am pretty sure we have a pro fighter who uses it well in the combat forum, not to mention at least one boxing sports writer. There have been several attempts to talk me through it. At this point it is a running joke.
NOW BACK TO brotard’s log
Regards,
Robert A

C2 face pull 4x12-15
done
notes-
glutes and quads pretty crushed - low back too.
first I used this stiff ass bar that is like 52 lbs-
but really sucks. so all my weights are off.
rack pulls- had to use straps at 365 - sucks.
my pulling is in the shitter
my mid back has been tweaked for a while low back is just banged up from squats.
so cleans, high pulls, and most pulls in general have been off the menu
starting to work those all back in- and I need to find some pain free upper body exercises.
I know what you mean about finding ‘pain free’ exercises. I’ve almost totally dropped squats for trap bar deads and my lower back has thanked me for it. And I can’t do overhand pull-ups or high pulls without my elbows aching like hell.
That Jordan Burroughs-David Taylor match you linked was awesome!!! If that had been for an Olympic gold, it would’ve been one of the greatest of all time matches for sure.
Best bad-ass wrestler story I ever heard was about a U of Penn guy (curly blond hair, national level top 3?, saw him wrestle on TV once) who when in college broke his jar, had it wired, then cut the wires himself because he couldn’t breathe and it was messing with his wrestling.
Have to be crazy to be a top level wrestler…
