I am shifting to calgary to look for jobs tomorrow. any cheap place to lift near north east? cause i am broke and jobless but i need to lift for sanity
In the north east? There’s Strive, in the North East Sports Center. Lots of platforms and bumpers, don’t now about the bars, no idea how much it would cost for drop-ins or memberships or anything. Probably worth checking out though. There’s an olympic lifting club that trains out of Peak Power at SAIT, though it’s not exactly cheap. I know a couple guys who lift over at MRU too, and I pop over there periodically, some decent platforms and bumpers and my buddies keep an eleiko bar in the back room for our use. Don’t know anything about Crossfit joints in the area, maybe something else to look for.
yah. hopefully my degree gets me a good job. cause i really need coaching. i have been training for one and half year in newfoundland. as soon as i get a job i will get a coach or someone who can see my technique
The coach with the club over at SAIT is very good with technique. He’s Armenian, used to lift back in the day, I think he’s a Master of Sport from back in the day as well. I’m not the biggest fan of the way he does his programming, but that’s probably more personal preference than anything and he certainly knows his shit. Other than him, you’ve basically got other lifters and coaches who are general strength coaches but not specifically olympic lifting coaches.
Yeah Stive would more then Likely be your best bet 15$ for drop in or 50$ a month. Peak Power Is retarded expensive its like 140$ a month and drop in is 20$ on sunday only but you also get your programming done but I prefer my style over their coaches so I pretty much stay away
