No excuses necessary- I have the same feelings about Blaine Wilson!

you do realize he’s about 5’3… judging by the contest pictures in RIT Jared’s forum you seem significantly taller then that (by the way your physique leaves something to be admired, among tvixen and tmen alike)

on a side note buckeye girl, watching his interview, i’d be lying if i said the man didnt tip off the ol gaydar (work in a premiere healthclub in ultra yuppie northern va, and your gaydar natrually becomes more reliant)

Hey, I’m only 5’1", so I don’t care how short he is! And he’s a Buckeye and lived in Columbus for many years. Not sure what he’s doing now, but I’ll definitely support a felloe OSU alum. :o)

Oh, and thanks for the compliment- very kind of you!

Hey, I’m 5’4". Being short is sweet. At least I’m different from most people.

Yea the gymnist have nice biceps from their pulling movements which will be incorporated into my training more than it was before. However anyone have any idea how Shawn Crawford got so huge?

I’ll try to find a photo of Yuri Cheki.

Buckeyegirl, Blaine Wilson? He’s a punk! He’s not good looking and sucks! LOL!

It must be his new “bad boy” image that he has taken on recently.

Two thoughts:

  1. Many of you laugh at Matt Furey for his body conditioning muscle courses. I admit he can come off like a huckster, but as far as I know Gymnasts do not lift weights and look at their developement! Furey, Body by Fish and some of the other body weight only guys, make some sense. (not that I would give up my weights just yet

  2. While I do admire the builds that gymnasts have I don’t think that they have anything on the olympic wrestlers. Not in terms of strength, stamina or physique! Oh…and for those of you who want to talk about fighting, a wrestler would hand the gymnast his head! (I had to put that in…I am sure you understand).

If anyone has Pavel Tsatsouline’s “Naked Warrior”, you’ll understand how gymnasts build incredible strength to go with their chiseled bodies.
Also, have a look at this article, titled “Building an Olympic Body Through Bodyweight Conditioning.”

As an all-state wrestler i have to agree, save for the physique, i always looked amazing the 2 or 3 weeks after wrestling season when i had time to recover, but not really inseason, however during inseason, my strength and stamina left me wanting more come spring time… still, these guys are impressive none the less

and nate dogg im still waiting for that cheki picture

I’ve been looking all over for photos of Yuri Chechi, but can’t find anything good, or anything that shows his arms!

I did, however, manage to find this one of him as a child. Go figure!

Here’s Yuri:

Those cats are freaking yoked.

Every team, the Chinese and Japanese teams as well. Simply Huge.

Blaine Wilson was being a punk though, did you all see the interview with him after the pre-lims? Straight punky.

He’s a little bitch! A washed-up, has been in the sport. I’m sure this will be his last Olympics. I’m not impressed with the U.S. team, but the Hamm twins are good, but they look so gay, even if they are hella strong! LOL!

I usually cheer for Alexi Nemov, Yuri Chechi and some of the others!

This picture is a perfect example of one thing everyone has left out, GENETICS!

Like all olympic athletes these guys are genetic freaks, look at this kid maybe 5 years old and you can see defined lats! INSANE

If you trained gymnastics maneuvers three hours a day for 15 years, you’d look like that too. The only common genetic trait these guys have is the stature of Danny Devito.

Crawford the sprinter? He ain’t huge. He’s listed at 5’11" 165 lbs. In fact most elite sprinters are smaller than you think. Remeber Ben Johnson? He was like 5’9" 175 lbs. Alot of those guys are under 165. They blend right into a crowd when wearing street clothes. They only appear huge because there is no frame of reference plus they are dense and ripped.

if he’s 165, then im a buck 20 soaking wet in boots, if you saw him compete at sacremento live (and yes, i was lucky enough) there is no way in hell that man who is my height (shorter by an inch) weighs roughly 50 pounds less then me… although i do agree with you when i say that most elite sprinters are small, although capel is another exception (he also played football for FL)

Crawford is huge. There’s no way he’s 165; I’d guess he’s close to 190 no joke. I talked to someone who saw him in Sacramento in the warm up area and he said Crawford was sooo jacked, he guessed close to 200.

no, hes 175-180, think about it, mo greene is only 170…Again because of how lean and dense he is because of the kind of training he does he appears much heavier then he is
