I have read Kai’s history. Most kids who grow up like that end up in jail or dead by his age.

Yes, I do personally cut him some slack based on that.
As a tax payer, if I fund someone for a stint who then becomes a contributing competent member of society, I am all for it. Is that not what getting a helping hand up is? To actually see someone make it out of his neighborhood and be successful is awesome. Money well spent in my opinion.

And having met Kai multiple times and having had lunch with him, he is an extremely well spoken, kind, and stand up guy. I was blown away by his humbleness and in all actuality how down to earth and normal he was for all the shit he gets.
I don’t really agree with you here, but to each his own He should have never been given any assistance to begin with. He is obviously a perfectly capable bodied human being so tell him to get out and go to work. If we would quit making it so freaking easy for people who just don’t give a shit and don’t want to work, then maybe the system wouldn’t be broken. But I’ve spent a little too much time the PWI today so I guess I’ll drop it

Easy to say, not easy in real life.

For instance, if someone has a criminal record, no education could mean no real job.

Yeah, it is easy to expect someone to work at Micky D’s…while ignoring their child support and the fact that most people would not be able to make it on that income.

I don’t know Kai’s entire history, but I do know most kids who come up like that end up way worse off then becoming a top star in a fringe sport.

Huge difference between not wanting to work and not being able to find a decent job that can support you.

I would not have near the problem with someone receiving assistance that worked at Micky D’s and Home Depot on alternating shifts (no a guy who did this) and it wasn’t enough to cover the bills, then yeah, give him some help. But someone who goes to the gym (how did he afford a membership) all day, and doesn’t really make an effort to get a job, is just a bum and shouldn’t be getting any assistance.

Like several other people, you conveniently missed the point then.

Na, its just something that has always incredibly annoyed me about him (and everyone else who plays the system), and since we were on the subject of Kai’s questionable character I figured I would vent.

Don’t want to work? Have you looked at him? I would say he is no stranger to some hard work and discipline. Not long ago I would have agreed with you. But it is easy to sit there and cast down judgment on a place you have never been. He had the fortitude and the drive to make it out of a bad place as some others do. Say what you want, but Kai is a survivor.

I just don’t classify him as the typical leach off the government type as you are tossing him in with. He has contributed back 1000X over what he took. All in all if you really want to look at it, quite a good investment the government made and they don’t make many of those.

More than likely his gym membership was free. I am sure the owner or someone recognized potential and saw something in him. I am no Kai Greene and I have 2 gyms who provide me a free membership and tanning, so that isn’t all that hard to acquire with an above average physique.

A bum to me is someone who sits around doing drugs and popping out kids, not someone trying to better themselves and their situation.

It’s gettin reeeeeal PWI’ish up in here.

fucking christ, what are you all dead inside? the man had a dream and vision of what he wanted to do w/ his life and he FUCKING DID IT! to me…that is amazing. we should all strive to follow our dream. folks that don’t get that, folks who can’t wrap their heads around that…perfect, wear a fucking certain baseball cap, a uniform…so i can take a wide birth around you and stay the fuck clear.

THIS THREAD IS FUCKED!

for what it’s worth, i hate ladder systems because, in most cases, they are a never ending staircase. kai’s case, he hustled and did what he did to get to destination in life. not 6 kids, a huge t.v. and free everything…our system is fucked but it’s fucked on purpose, the abusing poor get fed and get a sniff at an ok life, while those who benefit from our broken system build family legacies based on the slippery nature of our capitalist society.

i think phil heath has funny tits.

No one should have been forced to shoulder the financial burden of subsidizing Kai Greene’s dream except for Kai Greene.

it’s part of our culture, society, the fabric of commerce today…i don’t think it’s right. i’ve worked and lived on my own since i was 17…i get it. but i didn’t grow up in an orphanage.

it’s easy to talk about climbing from beneath, but very few have needed to travel from that far down.

i’m done…he should have worked for Quik Trip or Subway, he stole and did the naughty gay stuff. gross. bad man.

i hope he smashes at the O and then goes on to do produce spots for local grocery stores…
Bauber wrote:

You are correct.

Kai was not a bum.

Kai was a leech. A selfish, manipulative, fruit-fucking leech who in all likelihood knowingly and willingly abused a system designed, ostensibly (idealistically), to help those in GENUINE need of financial assistance… all in pursuit of his own egocentric dream of getting big muscles and a plastic trophy.

He’s a humble guy? Cool beans, but I’d bet the only reason why he isn’t up on his high horse now is because the thing ran off after he tried fucking it for another vial of test.

If I blew dudes and fucked citrus for coin while letting Big Brother pickpocket the American people on my behalf, you better believe I’d think twice before trying to put myself on a pedestal.

u mad?

I know right, let’s instead shoulder the financial burden of immigrant families who have 10+ kids just for getting child support money (which they don’t spend on their children) + from benefits as they don’t have a job.

lol

So, that’s REALLY the response you wanna run with? It’s OK for Kai to take advantage of the system because other people do it, too?

Look, we aren’t discussing the problems with the welfare system, in general, we are discussing the actions and choices of Kai Greene. Did you honestly think I wasn’t aware that that sort of thing goes on, or that just because I didn’t specifically condemn it I was somehow implicitly supporting it? That’s a serious question, btw.

Jesus, dude. Step it up a little.

Or the millions of other things that are subsidized. Subsidized housing, companies, start ups, etc.

Or maybe it’s preferable to have paid for him to be in prison on the tax payer as that’s where a lot of people with his background end up or dead. I don’t understand the amount of hate he is getting for having a Short stint of government assistance. Is government assistance abused? Yes, every day. Was his use of it abuse? I say decidedly, no.

Jealousy seems to be strong here. He has been enormously successful and it seems people have a hard time handling that because holy shit he got a few tboudand dollars from the government that he has paid back 1000 times over. He makes more than 90% of people here I’m sure. So unless you over your lifetime have paid more taxes than Kai has, you are more of a leach than he is.

Kai Greene, I hope kicks some ass at this upcoming Olympia. I think he might be abother Levrone with an amazing physique, but never quite can pull off a 1st at the O.

Alright, NOW this shit is getting mighty PWI up in here.
