Why? Its not like he is the first Mr. Olympia to break down and cry. If he wins he is doing what only a select few in his sport have ever done. I wish they would save the crying for backstage but I do not know if I would go far enough to say I would stop being a fan. Even the great Ronnie Coleman has broken down and cried on stage before.
he’s an ugly crier. Looks like a big blubbering baby.
Plus itll be his third time in a row. I dont think crying should be excused after the first two.

its only the Olympia anyway…
Haha I think any man 250+ lbs with almost no body fat will most likely look like a blubbering baby. Just an odd scene.

Yeah just not a classy way to win. Shake your competitors hand, thank the judges and fans, act like you’ve been there before. Breaking down and crying says to me “holy shit, I can’t believe I won!”

I can agree with that. Kai has enough respect not to go storming off stage when he looses so Phil should have enough respect to shake the man’s damn hand.

What’s up with all the BS 2 minute videos that MD is doing with Jay? I’m all for watching his training and what not, but those are all garbage videos.
He is part of team MD. It is their chance to try and up their viewership by making a ton of short videos about his quest to return to glory. They are doing the same thing with Centopani but instead are spinning it in the newcomer trying to make a dent way.
I think Rhoden is who I am going to pull for this year. He had my favorite physique last year, but I new he wouldn’t win and doubt he will this year. Branch Warren still is one of my favorites even though his physique isn’t the most aesthetic the dude just looks like a freaking battle hardened gladiator or something.

Right. I just don’t understand why they film a “leg workout” and just show him doing a set of leg curls for a minute. Totally pointless.
I’m really enjoying the Centopani videos though. He is a fantastic human being.

I like Centopani’s physique, and have nothing against him, but i find him to be unbearably boring in any video that isnt just him lifting or posing.
didn’t want to start a new thread for this but Kuclo was just gifted a win over essa obaid. kuclo might have a bigger better frame but the difference in conditioning was earth shattering. essa had that grainy “dorian” look - dry as the fucking sahara…
this industry is a cash cow, it’s like watching WWE. it is all pre-determined. it’s like a choose your own ending book. you think you get a say but the shit leads you were the $$$ is. The Olympia is rigged. Bodybuilding will never be a sport in the true sense of “fair competition.” well…i suppose all big teams are tied to commerce and trade - i grew up a NYer, hello NY fucking Yankees!

In future we will see training videos of Kai where he won’t do any exercises anymore, but only sit on a pillow and induce hypertrophy using his godlike mind muscle connection.
On another site, there is an anonymous (supposedly) IFBB Pro who’s been answering a lot of questions. He had mentioned that recently judges had seen the recent Kai “under the towel” video, and as we all know the old video that got attention. He speculated that for these reasons Kai will NEVER win an O title. While that seems unfair, if you want to really be the face of something like Bodybuilding as a whole, you had better be more cognizant of the things going on around you, the decisions made and how those will affect your immediate or long-term future.

Thoughts?
Not for nothing but bodybuilding is not exactly the most kosher of the sports. Considering how the only way to make a living is to break the law every day by taking AAS. Its an extremely shady sport. People have been doing exactly what Kai did for years to make money on the side. What is the quickest way for someone with a shit ton of muscle and low body fat who is not well known to make money?
Easy, you strip or make personal visits. There is a documentary on two female bodybuilders who wrestle men for money. I do not think that it should keep him from winning. Unfortunately it is the reason he has not and will probably not win (bar a miracle). Kai was unfortunate or stupid enough to have it caught on film. It does not take away from the amazing life story he has or the amount of hard work he puts into the sport.
