Olympia 2013

I am very interested in seeing the direction that both the female and male physique classes go. I wonder what combination of muscularity, conditioning, and symmetry the judges will go for. Will they go for someone like Sadik Hadzovic or Steve Cook? Juliana Malacarne or Sara Hurrle?

Pakulski is not doing the Olympia? When did this come about?

I like this guy. He looks freaky + he is a fun guy.

He does seam pretty laid back. That vascularity in his quads is frightful!Id be scared to bump into something sharp and have a geyser! Is that purely a function of being incredible lean and genetics or is there something thee guys take to increase vascularity?

I have never been a huge fan or hater of Cutler… But I am really liking the direction his physique appears to have taken.

He seems to be “smaller” but his physique seems to be “prettier” than before. IMO he looks better overall as a packaged deal than he has before.

It could be a different story once he’s on stage with everyone else but based on the earlier pictures and this photo I think jay looks great. I hope the judges see it that way as well. Him winning and retiring on top would be cool.

A smaller tighter jay winning the O could mark a shift in the landscape of the top pros. Less emphasis on all out mass would be good IMO.

I agree that Jay looks great, but people have been talking about this shift for years now and it never seems to happen. 1 year Dex won, the very next year it was back to Jay as a mass monster. And then Phil burst on the scene and everyone talked about how aesthetic his physique was, and it took him growing into a mass monster to win.

The Olympia is a game of who can get the biggest and I think it’ll always be that way.

You are probably right… But I hope you aren’t

Not trying to be that guy, but this cannot be his diet from this year because nitro-tech is a M-tech supplement and Jay has been with BPI since the beginning of the year
Quasi-Tech wrote:
Here is (I believe) Jay’s daily intake 1 week from the O:

Breakfast
6 egg whites
8 oz buffalo
Cup of coffee

Meal 2
8 oz potato
10 oz tilapia
Asparagus

Post workout shake
NitroTech

Meal 3
Asparagus
10 oz tilapia

Meal 4
10 oz chicken breast
Asparagus

Meal 5
10 oz chicken breast
Asparagus

Meal 6
6 egg whites
10 oz chicken breast

To make this easier for those too lazy to number-crunch. That’s about 460 grams of Protein, 50g Carbs, and 85g Fats. Assuming Jay is coming in at 250-260, you can do the math interpolation for his macro ratio to prep for the biggest show in bodybuilding. You’re welcome! (I’d double post this in the 6 Meals/Day thread, but its Olympia related, and my thread :-P).
I am sure the supplements are a plug but I would assume that the macro breakdown is not that far off.

As for my Olympia Predictions, not much different from anyone else. Top Three in any order: Jay Kai Phil. Whomever shows up harder and drier than the other two will win. Jay looks down in size only in his face and neck…

Sleeper for top 6 - Evan

212 i’m pulling for my boy Jose, good old massachusetts guy who works his ass off

Flex Lewis’ physique is so damn pretty its going to be a challenge

I’m rooting for him, but this year will not happen, but good thing is that he is young, the future is bright for him if he still continue to improve.

Really interested in how Rhoden comes in. Big fan of his. That being said…

I really want Jay to win. Not only that but I wanna see him and Rammy standing next to eachother on stage.

Im excited

O_O

That has to be the angle, 'cause Cutler looks like an average gym goer next to the other guy. Holy fuck.

I agree. I’m not a huge fan of Jay. I always get irritated in his bodybuilding videos because he drags his bag around, like he’s too tired to carry it. Yea, its silly, but it drives me crazy. Because I know hundreds of bro’s do just that in their gyms because “Jay does it.”

That said, his coverage, openness, and effort on this prep has garnered a lot of my respect. I still don’t think he should win (ie I hope its not gifted), but I think he’ll deserve a top 5. He’s one of the dryest / leannest there. I do think part of his effort is all marketing, and its apparent his fans are eating it up. There is a pick of him standing in the back of the auditorium looking at the Olympia stage, and people are just gushing over it. He knows how to play the fans - much akin to Arnold.

His new look is awesome. Its amazing how in their lean state (like Jay in this case) they look awesome, something a normal guy could aspire to. But off-season mode, they just look monstrous, ie too bulky.

Rammy seems to be eating up the attention and I bet as a new pro, just loving meeting the big names in the sport. Its funny because everyone is touting him as a huge threat, and he’s probably all giggly like a little girl. His smile is just epic. I’m a fan and he hasn’t even said anything, haha.

I think the “up and comers” are in a world of hurt. I could easily see the title changing hands from Phil to the “future of bodybuilding” Rammy, and all those guys who have been coming up through the ranks and improving will forever be blocked - like the next round of Coleman era. This all depends on Rammy’s ability to dial it in condition-wise. But he’s the widest one in the group, and has many years to grow.

P.S. Go Kai, win a damn Sandow before your shot is completely gone. Go Wolf, get a top 5 you big bastard.

It’s the angle. I saw both pics on another site. Yes, Jay looks a bit smaller in clothes than we’re used to seeing him (how often does Cutler wear long sleeves?), but we all know that’s deceiving.

Plus black is slimming and white is widening. That’s why I only have white shirts in my wardrobe.

Rammy’s shoulders are clearly bigger. Jay is also leaning to the side to try and not show his height - he does it in ALL of his pictures with people. Rammy is also standing with a slight turn which should make him look narrower. Look at the pictures of him seated at the sign-ins. I’m not saying Jay is narrow, I’m saying Rammy is bigger.

Also, to answer Rattlehead’s question. Pakulski has been out for the past 4-6 weeks. He was having a baby, so he decided to step out for this show. The jokester in me wants to say that hopefully he’ll come in with a smaller stomach next show, but in honesty, its good for him and his wife, and wish them the best with their newborn.
