Sounds like your neglected buttocks need a good thrashing!! (with the weights I mean).
Joking aside, when I get an injury, I can usually look back and pinpoint why it happened and it’s normally when I started to drop certain exercises from my routine. The wider the variety of exercises the better IMO.

MJ- Im no doctor, but foam rolling my IT band daily , sometims twice and using a lacrosse ball on my glutes has helped my hips alot.
i don’t roll my it bands because i haven’t been squatting or deadlifting. I roll the hell out of my hip flexor, adductor and rector femoris. and I ride the baseball 2-4 times per day. It all helps, but it isn’t getting me where I want to go. I will start rolling my it bands again though, so thanks for that

Is the 292 a recent PR?
sadly, no, I got down to 290 a few weeks ago, then came back up.
It is really hard for me not to just be a big fat guy. BUT, for all my self-pity, I have stayed away from the ice cream for awhile, so there’s that
We all have these crises. Really. Sometimes I have them regularly. I’d offer some pithy motivational stuff, but you don’t particularly strike me as the type. Regardless, say the word and the advice will flow…

^ This could be a business opportunity for you. I know there’s websites for women who wan’t to date millionaires. Maybe you could set one up for women looking for older, fatter, poor men?.
Oh I googled it and it’s already been done. I found these…

I think I have figured out how to rehab my hip. I’ve been scared to death to squat for the past couple months. warmed up for like 15 minutes, warmup was longer than workout.
no terrible pain afterward, just standard doms. VERY happy with this.

could not deadlift last night. my son swims for 2 teams in the summer, and one of them had their end of season banquet. Of course, it was too much trouble for them to work around my deadlift night, because they are selfish.
So, 8/2/11, not at all even close to 5/3/1 Deadlift
First time deadlifting in what feels like forever, so kept it light and double overhand
5x 135/185/185/185
oly swkatted
5x 95/105/115. Be back up to 460 in no time.
Doing the warm up and activation is making all the difference on the squats. My standard is 5x 350. as soon as I can hit that pain free, I’ll start throwing again. Most likely be next spring. looking forward to throwing. And lifting heavier. yeah.
wish i had time for more sets on the accessories, but happy to get a lift in nonetheless.
interesting thing about the hip rehab. the hip flexor was all messed up because it took over for both my glute and rectus femoris. Now, after I warm up correctly, my atrophied RF has to do work, and its complaining. try to get a couple sets of 15-20 bw full squats once or twice each day to get some blood through it.
I am hideously excited about my apparently functioning hip. yipee. Disneyland in 5 days.
