So I do the challenge once and kept having this shooting pain in the palm of my hand which caused me to stop once or twice when I didn’t want to. Felt like I left several reps on the bar, that thought kept gnawing at me while doing other stuff so I decided to try it again, MISTAKE. This time I used one wrist wrap on the trouble hand, about the 6th rep I realized this was dumb but wanted to keep going. Finally decided to just quit, was gassed, now I’m sore and can’t imagine what the next few days will be like.

OK, here’s my effort at it. Had intended to load up 210, but for some reason miscounted and actually did 215. Not blaming the extra 5 lbs though.

Was absolutely goddamned determined to see this one through. During the final set heart was palpitating madly, calmed down after I was through.

At the end, everyone in the gym was starting at me. guess they’re scared of hard work or something.

Nice job cavalier. It is kind of funny how the first 60 seconds is a breeze and then it feels like death. No wonder people were staring. I doubt many people see this kind of balls out work very often.

Godo work Cav. you deserve a beer for that.

Fantastic work Cav and dday!

Cav, that was an all out effort right there. That looked great and you definitely don’t see that level of effort too often.

dday, I can’t believe you went for it twice. Truly ballsy.

james

Knew it was going to be unpleasant, but if I realized how miserable it would make me, probably wouldn’t have tried. Unfortunately, when I get frustrated, just plow ahead harder than ever. Got a good night’s sleep, feeling better, and my low back / lats / traps are screaming at me today. Fine, maybe they’ll grow.

Took my medication, heart’s fine.

Joe, I don’t drink beer, but will gladly take a chocolate ice cream.

Hats off to Dday and everyone else putting themselves through this hell.

Joe- Thanks. Still peeved about hand thing. May try it again next week with the strap, think I can get 50.

James- I believe the word you’re looking for is dumb.

Did the DL challenge today after testing my max with the new modified sumo form I’ve been using. I elected to pull one set at 117 lb. (I meant to do 115 but forgot to ditch the weighted collars) with a very consistent pace. I did allow myself a one-plate platform so as not to be pulling from a deficit. Worked pretty well for me. I ended up with 46, which is my age. Pretty painful at the end.

It doesn’t count till you puke!

Nice job lady.

Nice pullin’ Snap!!! Glad you wore a belt, was starting feel like a cheater or something since no one else had.

Good job Snap! Damn, you kept good form to the very end. What was your coach saying at the end?

Damn, you really made us all look bad with your perfect form! Great work.

james

Good Job People.

I so want to do this, but with my lungs right now…I will do this in a week or three when lungs are back online with the rest of me.

Good job Snapper!

I tried this last night with 35 lb. plates on the bar, thus pulling from a deficit. BW = 111.5 lbs but I just could not see pulling from the huge deficit that 25 lb. plates would have provided.

I got 31 reps and gave up around the 1.5 minute mark.

The main difference between me and Snap is that my form sucked from the very first rep. Can we say rounded back? Yes we can. I’m proud of not one of those reps.

Obviously I have alot of work to do working through my sumo deadlift issues.

freakin awesome Snap!

lovely form throughout. loved the “I’m about to puke” expression on your face at the end.

@Joe - I’ll play in a couple of weeks when my meet is done.

just read through the thread and I’ll add Oro as an inspiration.

Everyone is making a great effort! O and Snap showing us ladies how its done!

Getting really inspired by all this, can’t even pick out anyone individually it’s all such hard work and solid effort.

Going to have first attempt tomorrow if all is ok.
