Meat, you are letting all of the secrets out.
Singing show tunes in a sundress? Are you a republican senator? (sorry)
Good luck on the diet and conditioning. I have found alternating days of high intensity (sled, prowler, etc) with low (walking couple of miles) works wonders. Just a thought.
I will definitely try this. do you do the high intensity stuff on lifting days, or non lifting days?
High intensity on lifting days, so as not to fugg too much with recovery. Sample breakdown of a PeteS week:
Monday Heavy squat + prowler
Tuesday off, low intensity cardio
Wednesday DE Bench + low intensity cardio (walk the dogs)
Thursday DE Squat/ME pull + sled sprints
Friday off, low intensity cardio
Saturday Heavy Bench + prowler
Sunday off, low intensity cardio
All in all low intenisty stuff is 30-60 minutes on off days. Sometimes it is elliptical + walk, or just really long walk. In addition to helping me lean out, the walking goes a long long way to recovery. If I skip a day I feel even shitier than usual.
Thanks Pete. I will give this a try. now if I could get my shitty golds gym to buy me a prowler…
4/29/10 5/3/1 weighted dips (1) cycle9
345x 3 (needed 7 for a PR)
did all BBB accessories. tried to do barbell complexes at 95lbs. made it through the 6,5 and 4 sets then stopped because i hate puking so much.
I will drop the training max significantly on this, cuz i’m just not getting enough reps. last year I dropped my bench training max from 295 to 250. I think I am going to make a similar drop for my weighted dips. just not getting enough reps to get strong.
Ive decided to keep the bbb accessories after all. on dip/bench day, I’ll do (or try to do) a complex as a finisher. on squat day, i will hit a tabata as a finisher. deadlift day is its own finisher. Now, I need to figure out where to insert some cardio. I am going to try just going for a walk first thing in the morning before I go to work. supposed to keep the heartrate under 130 for this, so walkies should do that. Sled dragging on the weekends will probably be the only places I can fit it in. may be able to throw in some kind of conditioning on a weekday that I don’t lift, but I don’t know what that will be.
decide Harder,
old lardass
ps, sorry i haven’t been visiting anyone’s threads lately, i have actually had to work while I am at work, and it is interfering with posting on the forums.

My god, what kind of demon’s are you working for!!? Why keeping the heart rate under 130?

Prowler is just an example, and I am lucky enough to have pirated one to fill my needs for the time being, until I am flush enough to buy my own. Insert sled sprints, run hills, run steps, intervals on bike, rower, etc. Even complexes on that day would work.
Ran into a friend today, he is a bber, has been for years. Fuggen huge dude, mid thirties, six two and low three hundreds normally in off season. Saw him a few months ago he was pushing 330. Saw him today and he is down around 290, and we are talking with veins in shoulders. What did he do? Twenty minutes of sprints on bike 3 times a week. And he walks his dogs. Little or no diet change at this point, he said.
