had to do the Jack Shit accessory template again, but at least I got a PR.
Bad things happening at work, my boss just gave notice and she’s the one that brought me on. My days here are numbered.
But, to make up for it, my wife treated my like shit over the weekend, so I ate (2) half-gallon cartons of ice cream. I have proved you can get stronger and weaker at the same time. and no, my diet is NOT going well.
that’s a lot of reps on bench. i don’t think i could hold my breath that long:) that’s my rule of thumb on whether or not it’s a ME movement or accessory… if i can hold my breath for the whole set, it’s ME. If I have to breath it’s an accessory movement.

Hey Meat. nope, I don’t hold my breath for bench. if i did, i am sure i would get all cal state on my neck. even though its just pussyweight
Drug this over form my thread so I’d have room to move:
Yours:
There were 3 times that I cried when I was in the Marines:
1982, they stopped giving us C Rats and started giving us MREs
1984ish, they retired the m-1911 with that little plastic POS baretta (how are you gonna pistol whip a prisoner with that little toy)
1986, scout sniper instructor school, found that there is no bayonet stud on a sniper rifle.
Mine:
C rats were ok but the damn water that came in 5 gallon cans tasted like pure metal. During Desert Storm, support troops living in tent cities all started gaining weight. Why? MREs were designed for active troops on the move and in the field. 3000 calories each. Stationary troops were eating 3 a day. 9000 cals, duh?. Maybe that’s what the albino one needs?
No Air Force jokes now, but we carried the .38 cal before the 9mm. Pilots had to have hollow point ammo in case it went off in their plane.
Sniper school? I’m very impressed. OK, in the interest of full disclosure, I am, without a doubt, the absolute worst shot with a rifle to have ever served in any service. Last time I had to qualify with the M16 the range master said “Chief, be best if you use it as a club”?. I carried my Mossberg 590A1, pump action, pistol grip, 12 gauge buckshot ammo and my favorite load, flechette packed 12 gauge shells made special for me by our gunsmith. (I just got wood btw). Wasn’t shit at a distance but great for getting up close and personal.
(Just notice you hadn’t been added to the war room. Took care of that. It’s boring as hell over there, anyway. All the younguns still think they’re 10’tall and bullet proof.)

I just got wood too… I packed an M203 from e-2 to e-4, and the big flechette bullets were my fave.
they never threw me a war when I was in, so that might not be appropriate, but thanks.
Great lifting MJ. I do the Jack Shit workout when time is tight. I was never in the military but I love to shoot. A lot of target shooting when I was younger.
I went to a gun range for the first time in Denver last year… they had EVERYTHING…
including a 50 caliber rifle
we lit the place up and had fun, when I returned the rentals to the counter, they asked if I enjoyed myself,
and I said yes, but its not the same without the car hood, it took a minute for the coins to drop but then they didnt like that.

Jack Shit Accessory Template
21 minutes
290 lbs
No PR today. did not get stronger. Fuck You I Got Weaker! I attribute this to doing no accessory work for the past week and a half.
I will get my shit together so that I can have full workouts next week. i like how i feel swole after doing the accessories, so its been kind of a bummer not having them. However, I really like being able to go in and hit the work sets and be in and out in 20 minutes, rather than think “I dont have time to train” and skipping the session. I just need to not make a habit of it!
I hope everyone has a great weekend. For those of us who are large, I wish us all success in avoiding Ice Cream.

War Room is a misnomer. Anyone who served can be in it. Not a lot going on in there, especially by us old farts. Not like that other T-Cell where real cool stuff is discussed by the big guns.
i have not lifted for several days. i feel normal, which really sucks. I prefer feeling like more than that.
Work has been super busy, so I have not been able to escape for lunchtime lifties. today is my son’s winter concert at 2pm, so I will be skipping lunch (and lifties) again today. I am hoping to squeeze in a deadlift session on thursday.
very cold, most of the week was under 25 degrees. we got a little snow, to be expected this time of year. today (sunday) is raining, so my son’s 6’5" snowman was melting when I left the house.
Work has been off the hook busy, so I didn’t get to deadlift until saturday. is the christmas season mail starting to wear you down?
12/12/09 5/3/1 deadlift(1) cycle 6
330x 5. 10 reps would have been a PR. felt very heavy, but the (1) wave isn’t meant to happen after a week off. I will count that as my deload, and go directly to “(5) cycle 7” without a formal deload week. my buddy Josh from Sparta(Laramie) is down for some techy training, so he and I will be hitting the gym in the mornings pre-work. He rides bicycles for long distance, and races on velodrome tracks, but his wife talked him into a gym membership, and he wasn’t sure what to do. I have introduced him to 5/3/1 for his off-season. With a little luck, I will have tricked another endurance athlete into becoming at least a part-time meathead.
felt pretty good today. my brother in crime is down from laramie, and we met at 6am to do some 5/3/1. Since i have not done accessory movements for 2 weeks, and he had never done them, we kept it to 3x10 instead of 5x10. worked out well.
tomorrow, we’ll do some squats. feeling swole. Feels good to be back on track with the liftage. Now, to control my diet…

Good for you. I’m glad to keep reading how it is going for you.
