Cranking along solid mj. How’s the knee treating you?
thanks to my uber awesome super pimp heavy duty knee sleeves™, not too bad. I have been taking 1 or 2 ibuprofens (the 200mg ones) with my fish oil pills (4-5x/day) and that has really helped. Also, doing the 1-leg deadlifts as my accessory on squat days is helping strengthen the area as well. Plus constantly changing to myself “knees out, knees out” when I squat.
So, can’t complain. I’ll still need to drop 30-40 pounds before I can do any real skiing though.

Thanks Kev. The real test will come as I dial my diet back in. I need some actual conditioning work, like sled dragging or walking fast or biking or something. man cannot live by barbells alone, or at least that’s what I’m afraid of.
did my whole warmup, felt like i pulled something in my groin while i was doing the agile 8, but it didn’t hurt. for the first time as part of my warmup i brought my lacrosse ball and rolled my periformis. did my warmup sets, and on my first work set, as soon as i hit depth, I felt like my whole IT band from hip to knee was on fire. tried rolling out the IT band with a lacrosse ball, but whatever it is would not loosen it up, so I had to throw in the towell. hit abz on the way out.
don’t know what this is all about. when i get home after the nite job, I’ll hop on the foam roller, and hit everything from the waist down. never had this before, but it has to be in the hip joint. this is on the leg with the good knee, too, so its a real big mystery.
I am going to pretend that I did the training session, and go to militaries tomorrow.
2a. accessory military supersetted with pulldowns
110x 10/10/10/10/11
2b. pulldowns
225x 10/10/10/10/12
Time 40min
fatness 292
money set equivalent 189. 7 lb pr
A great session that almost makes up for yesterday and mystery thigh oweeee.
Military is the lift that I have gone the longest without a PR, so today was cool for me.
Now i get a rest day, then wed is deadlift. Hopefully my leg will feel better. I still don’t know what the story is. the only thing i did differently was roll my ass with a lacrosse ball. that should help, not hurt. I rollered with the roller last night, and it felt great, but it didn’t help my leg. It still feels like there is something going on along the IT band. I will roll again tonight, but I will also get some lacrosse ball ass work. see how that does. tomorrow, maybe some complexes.

John, would it be better to forget about max poundages to decrease bodyfat?
probably. I would think higher rep stuff like barbell complexes would be better. not that there is anything bad about lifting heavy weights. just remember that conditioning is separate from strength training in my opinion.
But I am still a very fat guy, so you should probably talk to someone who has actually lost and kept weight off. check MarauderMeat, he is recently very skinny, and Eco as well. and of cource DaCharmingAlbino, who is our resident Abercrombie and Fitch model.
Thanks, Kev, I will check it out. whatever it was let go sometime on friday and I felt back to normal. work has been interfering with lifting very much for the past week. According to the log, I have not done complexes since 11/13 (11 days)and I have not lifted for 7 days. I think I am growing a vag.
anyhoo, this all motivated me to drag ass into the gym most early this am and do cosgrove complexes. I added 10 lbs instead of 5 because I have been so bad. it was hard, but it was going well, until the end of the 3rd set and a near bowel eruption. so, instead of the regular 90 seconds, I had a 6 minute rest between sets 3 and 4. But I didn’t feel too guilty - once you survive the 3rd set, the rest is cake.
I am hoping to catch some deadlifts tomorrow (wed). the gym is open on tg day, so I may sneak in for a little work then as well. just have to see.
