This is the longest I have stayed with 5/3/1 without moving onto something else. I am really liking the progress. I can tell you, however, it gets hard the longer you move on. 290 for nine was a battle for the last two.

That was a really good one. I felt really strong for deadlifts. My gym prides themselves of being the best in the area. They now have three locations and soon there will be four. Each year they charge members a yearly fee for new equipment.
This was the week the new equipment arrived. For each gym they purchased new deadlift bars. I did not think I would like it at first, but after I got going, I loved it. I can’t imagine not using chalk with it, however. It’s really rough.
Another new piece of equipment is the pendulum squat. They eliminated my V-squat, so again I was not sure I would like the change. I found the pendulum squat is a beast. It looks easy, but it’s not. I’ll see what I can do next week when my legs are fresh. I think I’ll like the new challenge.
Seen the Pendulum in a few vids, does look very intense for sure- so does your cardio night.
Gym sounds pretty great.
Thanks. Things are going pretty good right not. I just hope the wheels don’t fall off. I decided on a meet at the end of April.
No shit…meet coming up- awesome.
12- 13 weeks out then?
April 26th. I have some trips coming up as well, so anxiety is already setting in.

More new equipment. They purchased a nice new row machine and all new dumbbells.
Is that high row machine similar to doing snatch grip high pulls?
If so, twice weekly’ll make you really solid.
I am not an expert, but that looks like a nice row machine.
Likewise. I’m no expert. I liked it and will be using it again.

That was a solid Weighted Walk Wednesday. This was the first time I have completed the shoulder carry while wearing the vest. It was really hard. I look forward for the next time.
That thing should add some beef to back.

I did an extra set of band presses, because I did not like number four. I felt really good today.
There is a young man who started going to the gym a couple months ago. He’s a good kid, who looks nothing like a lifter yet. He’s kinda skinny with big glasses. He’s super polite and asks questions. He might have become my favorite person at the gym. I have taken him under my wing, so I hope he stays with it. He’s a hard worker.

I’m starting to get the feel of pendulum squats. One of the YouTube videos I watched said to do them when the legs are already warm, so belt squats came first. It’s a very difficult apparatus, and you really don’t see people doing huge weight on it. Still, I think with continued practice, more weight will come. I really like how it works the legs.
