It took a while to get rolling, but it was worth it. Tonight was a good carry night.
Good to read you’re pulling a prowler and also doing backward work. Seems like you’ve outgrown the 200 lb sandbag. Maybe a bigger one for Christmas?
I don’t know. If I recall the 200-pound bag is another one of those things you talked me into. If I went higher, it would not be more than 220. I like your previous idea of getting one at the army surplus store.

It’s a beautiful day. Make me wonder how long I will be able to train at home with the garage door open.
Who else around here is going 200 yards with a 200 lb bag? You know you’re strong enough to go to 250 initially for fewer yards.

I’m still stuck at 345. It was explained to me that my bar placement was too high. That’s probably correct.
I read recently that benching at 315+ means other muscles besides pecs invariably get involved. The writer listed handstand pushups as best accessory exercise for breaking through the 315 barrier, along with overhead pressing and pullups. Just passing it along…
The things you talk me into… That being said, maybe I’ll try them again next week. It’s been a long time.

This was my second time doing the belt squats. As a semi-sumo deadlifter, I can see how there is going to be a good carry over from one to the other. My leg position is very similar.

10 pretty rough ones.
I plan on trying to do a set each day.
Good. Daily is great idea. You bested me as usual.
I did them today before really great gym workout. Never before done that, but I intend to try to now.
I forgot how hard it is just to get into position.

I finally pushed past two reps at 345. Now onto four. I must say they felt good and strong. I know biker will take credit for the increase due to handstand push-ups, but it’s a little early for that.
This was round one for the day. My buddy is coming over in a few hours for weighted carries.

The second workout of the day was not a big deal. It was just enough to get the blood flowing. We spent most of our time talking about the old days.
No, I won’t take credit for 3 @ 345. You did that, along with the great handstand pushups.
Today’s one of my rest days and I feel like concrete.

Today I said, “fu$% it” to myself several times, as I added weight. I set out punish my legs, and I did. 540 on belt squats has been my most thus far. I can’t say they were smooth or as deep as the others, but I got the feel anyway.
Good attitude, that’s got to trigger some growth.
