I kept the volume down this week, due to heavy deadlifts this weekend.
Next week my friends are coming over for our fourth annual strongman night. We’ll pull and carry various heavy things. This will be the third year we will even have t-shirts. My son will be taking part as well.
That felt good. I know I’m going to feel it for a few days. 345 was solid. I think I had at least one more rep in me. Coming down on both reps was not very good however.
He will. He got his bar number last week. He’ll move into his new apartment next month. There is a pretty nice public gym not far away. He’s been using my garage gym since he moved back home from school.
We didn’t do the strongman event tonight. My buddy is retired but works parttime doing transports for the Marshall’s Service doing transports. He signed up for a shift today.
I didn’t do sandbags tonight. I concentrated on the prowler.
That sucked. I wanted three reps at 345. Two flew up last week. This week one rep was a fight. I didn’t sleep well. Maybe that was it. I’ll give it another run next week.
I tried belt squats for the first time today. I see biker doing them all the time and he reports how much he likes them. I was also listening to a podcast this week and they said Vince McMahon could belt squat 900 pounds when he was 70 years old. I have been thinking about giving it a shot for a while. I liked the feel and I will be doing them again.
