Old Guy Strength

Consider wrapping knee joints before warmups?

Seems like every other guy over 50 at gym wears them. Thought it was long underwear/fashion craze until I saw someone putting them on. I’m considering them since I’ve starting feeling stuff about 8 hrs after leg work. Not 45 yrs old anymore.

I started using knee sleeves I purchased from Elite FTS a few months ago. I really like them. Plus, they are legal in the WABDL, so I will be able to wear them the next time I compete.

I am just keeping on adding one rep to 315 weekly. Today was still pretty easy. I should be at five before my vacation next week, which will be nice time to deload. I ask myself is 10 possible? Doubtful, but it would be cool.

I started my program over today. I should be at 500 at the end of it. I noticed that not after doing reps for a while, they really work you, when you do them again.

That’s what I use. I have had them at least 10yrs. Used them instead of wraps we hen I competed in classic raw.

I had every intention of hitting the public gym after work. The garage, however, was just too easy.

Not much going on today. I normally do my walks on Wednesday, but I am still a little sore from deadlifts Sunday.

Ski Machine:
5000 meters

I should learn by now I cannot DL two weeks in a row. I got greedy and gave it a shot. Everything was heavy so I decided to keep it light.

I then did the ski machine thing. I have never tried, and it didn’t look too bad. It was terrible. You can choose 2000, 5000 or 10,000 meters. I figured I would try 2000 since it was my first time. Holy crap, it was more than I thought it would be. I almost bagged it after 1000 meters, but I thought how could I “face” the T-Nation gang. I had sweat rolling off me. I think I found something I will do again.

Good for you, for trying something new.

Yeah, I thought it looked pretty easy. I was wrong.

Good review for those of us wanting to try that thing. Sore?

Not really. Considering it is some kind of medieval torture device, that’s a surprise.

40 Yard “Sprints” = 6
40 Yard High Knees = 6
40 Yard Backward “Sprints” = 6
40 Yard Crossover = 6

Agility Ladder =
Fast Feet = 10
Sideways = 10

It’s been a minute since I had a conditioning night. My “sprints” are way slower than they used to be. It’s one of those situations where the mind says one thing and the body says another.

Just a rare burst of “normal” for you.

I spent yesterday driving 500 miles and finally moving both kids out of their college apartments. Today went well. I’ll continue to add a rep a week.
