Maybe size them up awhile as potential workout partners. Make sure they don’t call you fuck%. Your knowledge and their raw strength’ll benefit everybody; you’ll likely be the sorest for awhile. I guess also consider their backgrounds considering how you described them. I lifted my best with a 20 yrs younger, really strong guy who pushed me, and we each got incredibly stronger. He had served time for theft but had turned himself around by time we worked out.
It helps they are friends with my gym buddy Memo. We’ve lifted together for probably 15 years. He’s a somebody in that world, but I don’t want to know too much. He owns a shop, which I am told does great work. I’ve also heard the rumor they will install various compartments in your car, no questions asked. He’s always been a good friend.
I volunteer for security at my church from time to time. This was my week, so I trained in the afternoon. The place was packed. I think I gave me a little kick, however, because there were plenty of strong, young people around me. Everything was light and easy.
It is a sad state of affairs that a church needs security but apparently they do. I train Krav Maga with a lot of guys who are church security.
As always lots of good work going on in here.
Some of the guys are really into and do it every weekend. I’ve been in public service for 30 years, so it does not have the same luster. I just try to help when needed. We have a pretty large church, so our group is fairly professional. We have nice radios and training from time to time.
The plan was for two reps at 330. I got stuck about three quarters way up on the second rep, and needed some help. I’ll repeat things next week. I’m not too upset about it, because it’s been a while since I got jammed up. On the plus side, I moved up to 95 on pullovers.
