My long-term goal is 350 for 3 reps. Hopefully that occurs this year. I have been working toward 100-pound pullovers (I don’t know why). I took another step toward that today with two sets of 90.
Good pullover work, and done at best time in workout. 100’s just 10 more pounds.
My smart 80 yr old gym friend credits his Louisiana and Texas bench records at 68 to back work like heavy barbell bent over rows, pulllups and handstand pushups. His 50 something workout partner he’s had for 25+ years reminds me of an in shape professional wrestler.
Those machine flyes.
Handstand pushups are something we have not done in a while. I may have to bring them back.

I just purchased new knee sleeves from Elite FTS. This was my first workout in them. I really liked the way they felt. I was a little worried I wouldn’t.
There was a young man benching near the V-Squat machine. He was really doing well, and I spotted him a couple of times. I had to throw in another heavy set of V-Squats because he was on the area.
I don’t see many people doing pullovers any more. Use to do them a lot when I was younger. You feeling them more in the pecs or lats? Since you have them in with the chest I guess pecs.
I’m getting a nice stretch in my pecs.

Back to yoga for the night.
Wonder if yoga can cause man boobs?
Couldn’t resist writing that.
It’s the xeno-estrogens in the Lululemons that does it.
Not yet. It’s actually pretty hard. My wife and I just follow along on YouTube.
On a serious note, I’ve read some powerlifters do yoga to stay limber. My wife wants me to do it.
Also serious…
It’s great all around, no doubt about it. And an aspect of training/health ect., that most of us hear neglect (I’d be willing to bet).
I’m not saying I am up to going to a business to do it. I’m sure I look like an idiot. My wife and I were looking for something to do together, and she’s not a gym person. It really provides great stretches. I have arthritis in my shoulders, so I am hoping this will loosen them up. I have a buddy who went hard into it and lost a bunch of weight. I’m not exactly sure how that works.
The young lady we follow on YouTube provides really good 30 minute sessions.

I’m sure my standing overhead press will always suck, but I continue on.
At least a 135 OHP looks impressive.
I see guys way smaller than me, doing a lot more.

Since I joined the new gym 10 months ago there have been a group of older guys (35-45) who workout together in the morning. They’re pretty big guys. They look a little rough, and look like guys I might know professionally. They’ve been cool thus far, but we have never talked.
Today I walked in and the leader asked, “What are you going for today big man?” I just said I didn’t know. He then said, “You’re the strongest fuck%r in this place.” He shook my hand and introduced himself and I did the same. He then said, “You’re strong as fu*%.” I thanked him.
To test the situation I asked him for a spot at 295. It worked out and he said I could have done three or four more.
