That was a pretty good Weighted Walk Wednesday. I continue to wear the same shirt on Weighted Walk night for the past two years. It still has not been washed and is extra wet tonight.

The walks themselves were good and my legs were screaming.

September 17th is always a special day for me. 21 years ago, I was driving to my parents’ house to pick up my kids, who were visiting them. A lady ran a stop sign and hit the side of my SUV. The car flipped and I suffered a major head injury. They think I stopped breathing for seven minutes, before my sergeant (who was one of the first responders) got me going again. I had to airlifted to Seattle and was in a coma for three days. I was told I would be in a nursing home the rest of my life.

The comeback is always bigger than the set back. God is good. I always say today is my second birthday, since I died 21 years ago. Although I look like crap for a 21 year old.

Wow is right- that’s quite a story.

I just told my lady that we’re both lucky “we started our ‘second lives’ together”…
our anniversary (2nd.) is Sept. 17th.

Enjoy the rest.

If it’s a second marriage for starting second lives together, you have a good attitude.
Life will be different.

Day after reading that story I remain amazed. You have a toughness beyond just being strong. Glad you’re still around. Once again, your moniker suits you.

Sorry for the highjack Cripp-

It was the “second birthday” that struck me- and his story too.
I guess all the direct arm work pays off… :expressionless:

We arrived back from Las Vagas last night. It was a great trip. My wife and I celebrated 27 years of marriage yesterday. I was dragging ass this morning in gym. I’m still suffering from Vagas lag. I just got done what I needed to and went lighter.

I debated on doing this today. I was still pondering my energy level, but it felt great. On the second rep of 325 I fell backwards flat on my ass. It was the first time this ever happened to me. I keep a bench behind me to sit on between sets. I fell against it, and it toppled over. All my stuff went onto the floor. I cool I guy I have known since the old gym ran over and helped me up and picked up my stuff. I must have been pissed because the next three reps felt extra light.

Now to mow the yard. My rider died on me last week after 18 years. I’ll do the entire acre with a push mower. I don’t want to buy a new rider until the spring.
