Old Guy Strength

I 100% agree. I’ve said before my old gym closing and me going to this new one has been great. I’ve been getting better workouts, than I have in years. On top of that, part of the fun is watching people.

It was 98 degrees at workout time. This was probably the final Weighted Walk Wednesday until after the meet. My security camera only captured me hooking up for the pull.

Outside in 98 degree weather. You’re gonna blow 'em out of the water at your meet.

Good luck anyway.

Crippler, I noticed something this morning when doing deads. I’m using an online coach who has me doing lying hamstring curls first in workout, then deadlifts. With the hamstrings warmed up from 4 x 6 with a moderate weight, there’s no hamstring trouble from deadlifting so far. I never realized that before. I’m only up to 315 so far but I’m encouraged.

Good to know. If there is one thing I am not steady at, it’s warming up and stretching out.

Ha. Thanks.

I have discovered a new pandemic. The pandemic of guys dropping their weights on the floor. I know my coach would have had our asses for doing that back in the day.

I hate that. Many of my gym’s dumbells are canted over because of that, making them more dangerous to use.

To a lesser degree I contribute to that pandemic.

Its start at 60’s in my gym and keeps going on up the ladder… It makes them a giant pain in the ass to put back on the rack…

Well, don’t you lift them to get stronger?

They have bumper plates, but don’t think one should take that literally. Not putting your stuff back where you found it, is an even bigger issue for me. It’s not that hard.

My gym complaint is guys not always putting their weights back in correct place. Incredibly I’ve found unattended dumbbells at least twice in the gym sauna. I don’t touch those but I do restack weights left in my workout area. Sometimes it looks like it rained 45s around the leg press machines.

Ditto. I spend part of my time picking up for other people.

110 degrees after work, so off to the gym I went. Way to hot still for garage training.
