Old Guy Strength

A couple. Two new gyms and the pandemic sunk my gym. I’ll start at a new one next week.

The last workout at my gym home for 20 years. I changed things up a bit to celebrate. I said goodbye to a lot of good people who have been in my life a long time. Luckily many of the people at my gym will be going to the place I am moving to.

Just do it. You have to start some place.

Since I am gym-less for a couple days, I hit the garage. My old gym is transferring memberships to Planet Fitness. I cancelled, since PF is a no-go for me. The gym I will be going to is only three years old, and a lot of people I know have moved there. It’s just the whole starting out as the new guy thing…

@Crippler56, I accidentally posted something on your log that should have been on mine. Apologies. I’ve deleted it .

“New guy…”

I’d go sleeveless, right from the start, maybe some sweet upper-arm- tassled bands…old school Ultimate Warrior shit right? Set the Tone.

My .02… :expressionless:

I hit the new gym tonight. It’s younger, more intense group for sure. It has really nice equipment. It might be what I need. It’s more of a lifter environment than what I am used to. It is probably 10 blocks from my old gym, so I saw a bunch people from there.

You’ll blend in. Probably scare some folks too. Skip the face paint.

I did feel a little of the stares, wondering who the new guy is.

Going forward I think I will keep arm day at home. I just think it works out better for me. The new gym is pretty busy after work. I am curious what it will be for my early morning weekend workouts.

Don’t you dare. Remember, you’re older than Crippler.

Good luck with weekend gym work. Probably need to either take a number at the door, or make a reservation. I went to my regular gym for first time last Saturday about a hour after it opened. I waited in line for almost everything, amid all the weak folks trying to make up for missed days. Glad I go at 5 am on weekdays for rest of workouts.

First DL day at the new gym. I wanted to do more. It wasn’t until I was done I reminded myself I just did carries two days ago. I normally do deads on Sunday, and should have again.

It was really good. Very few people there in the morning.

Bench:
3/275, 2/295, 1/315, 10/225

Hammer Strength Press:
4/10/1 plate

Machine Flies:
4/10/295

Svend Press:
4/50/2 plates (10s)

Learning the equipment at the new gym. I can tell already I don’t like the benches. They are too short and too hard. The nice thing is it is a 24/7 facility. My old gym did not open until 8:00 AM on weekends. I saw several of the people I knew from the old place.

OHP:

Hammer Strength High Rows:

Landmine Rows:
10/1plate, 10/2 plates, 10/3 plates, 10/4 plates

Still finding my way around the place. They have a ton of equipment.

I finally ordered my prowler sled yesterday. It should be here Thursday. It will be a nice addition to my training.
