Sandbag Over The Shoulders: 2500 steps x 150

My previous PR for over the shoulder was 1500. Today I was able to go 1000 steps in one set. Everything felt so good, I just wanted to keep going. I moved up to 150 in October and it was just a struggle to get it on my shoulders.

I normally do some farmers’ carries, but with the added sandbag steps, I left some in the tank.

My wife, to my shock, didn’t really even blink when I said I might have to buy a new bar. I have had this one 20 years, so I got my money out of it.

Believe me, it helps to have a long marriage for new garage gym acquisitions.
Stay safe. How’s your son?

So sad to lose a good friend you’ve had for 20 years. What bars are you looking at? So many good bars from each company. You’re a freaking sandbag carrying beast! 1000 steps with 150. Nice.

He’s doing great. Thank you. Both kids came home for Christmas break. He found out first year law school is pretty stressful. He did real well and is looking for an internship this summer. He went back Saturday.

I’m not sure. I’ve been looking online. It’s true. I love that bar. The other one I have I got from a guy this past summer. It’s pretty crappy, so I just use if for extra stuff.

Great to read that. As a reaction to the covid l9 crisis Louisiana cancelled its 2020 bar exam, swore all 2020 law grads into the state bar and requires experienced lawyers to mentor one newly minted lawyer for one year. I’m mentoring one who is really smart. The mentoriing has nothing to do with the classroom, essentially “life in the trenches”.

Maybe check out Crain’s Muscle World. Ricky Dale Crain. He doesn’t advertise, I got what I think is a great bar from him, and OG got some stuff from him too.

I just texted my son what you said about the bar. I don’t think he’ll be that “lucky.” Thanks for the heads up on the bar, I’ll give it a look.

I certainly hope covid isn’t an issue when his time comes for the bar exam.

I think there is light at the end of this tunnel.

350 was messed up from the start. I could only do two.

Messed up doesn’t belong in this workout post.

Thanks. My foot placement and grip were all wrong.

I sometime volunteer for security detail at my church, which I did today. I was able to get about 90 minutes of walking around in, before hitting the gym.

I have also started an Atkins / Keto-type diet. We’ll see how that goes.

525 rack pulls. Hopefully the diet won’t be too bad.

I’m giving it a shot. Three days in and it’s been easy to follow.

Sandbag Shoulder Carries: 1200 steps x 150
Sandbag Bearhug Carries: 200 steps x 150

I couldn’t go outside today, since it was raining. I paced off my steps and that was about all I could do seeing the same four walls. I enjoy outside carries a lot more.

Crip-

Any sandbag advice? Im picking up sand today for a bag I got 50-125lb capacity. Was thinking of starting with 75lbs…any comment would be appreciated

Crippler, I’ve been mute on OG’s sandbag posts so you can really spill some stuff. Try not to intimidate him.
