It’s a work in progress. I went out tonight to look for more plates, but the local sporting goods store and Walmart were sold out. Dicks was closed. I did get new mats though, because the one I was using just was not doing the job.
Same here; stores sold out of training stuff. I did find a few more bands, and swiss ball at a Big 5 sports. I’m a fan of S.balls, use them everyday for warm-ups/finishers, so that’s something.
RIP K.R. He’s a classic.
Chain looks exactly like it came from a fitness website. Good one to have.
Absent finding additional plates, there’s still sandbags. Different workout, heavy as you can handle, add sand gradually. My Rogue one is outstandingly tough. Rouge’s sandbag demonstrator in their sandbag section is over 50.

I was thinking about how lucky I am that I have the gear I do in the garage. It’s not what some people have, but it is getting me by. I went through a bodybuilding phase about 20 years ago and purchased it all. It has rarely been used in the last 15 years.
Except for poundages on compound lifts your workouts appear to be same.
Pretty close. I don’t have cables or a full assortment of dumbbells, but it’s not too bad. Of course I also miss not having a spotter on bench days. I look at everyone doing bodyweight training or nothing at all, and I realize I’m in a good spot for now.

Still keeping things light. I don’t have any safety bars on my bench. I have a fear of killing myself. As I said it could be a lot worse.
If my meet goes on in July I may to dead only at this point.
Think what the July competitors w/o your garage equipment are doing.
Still encouraging a sandbag; specifically, a Rogue 250 lb one–or higher and add sand over time. At least read all the comments on the Rogue sandbag web page. Also, NLFTR’s last post where he used his sandbag in his last workout.
Just a thought. I am now dismounting my soapbox.
That’s a good idea. My son and I just purchased a new sledge hammer too. We need to find something to hit.

Pretty good today. I continue to look for additional plates without paying an arm and a leg. I remembered the local high school went through a remodel a couple years ago. The football coach wanted to give me a bunch of the old plates. I turned him down, because I never used the stuff here. I’m paying for it now.
That’s a heavy duty/old school rack you got. That pic is during a curl workout I presume.
Jealous I am.
It gets the job done. The bench sucks. It’s too high, so I can’t get good leg drive. Hence the 2 x 4s under my feet.
Still, it’s better than the one I haven’t got.

My gym posted on Facebook they will waive all fees this month. I thought that was a nice touch. Also, one of the IT guys at work has some plates he said he will give me.
I’m just getting tired of non-stop virus. I suppose it will continue for some time. I even find myself watching the president’s daily news conference, while I workout in the garage. I’d love to watch some baseball this summer, so hopefully by June we are over the curve.

So a guy at work is going to hook me up with a bunch of equipment. He’s going to give me some plates, an Olympic bar, and a curl bar. He said he traded some other guy for the stuff a long time ago and he never uses it. The only thing he said was the plates were kind of dirty because the came out of the guy’s barn. I told him I could clean the stuff.
This is a lucky break.
Yep, I don’t care if the plates are dirty or rusty. I can clean them and paint them.

I had the day off from work (maxed out on time), so I slept in and hit the garage. I think I found a way to get some bench work in, while not killing myself under the bar. I will add 5 to 10 pounds to this each week until the gym opens up.
I also found out the weight on my old school collars. As I found a scale in the garage, I noticed the weight on the side of them. It only took me 20 years to find the weight. Each collar weighs 2.5 kg, which is 5.5 pounds in America. Therefore all my BB work is 11 pounds heavier. It’s too much to calculate for me, so I just won’t figure the collars in.
Our governor just extended the stay at home order to May 4th, so it’s at least another month of old school training.
