I’ve been battling the flu for the past week. There were several days where if was winning. I felt half way decent today, so I went in for something light. My wife tore into me for doing it, but I just felt the itch.

I’m still really dragging from this flu. No energy at all. I still feel it in my chest as well. I went really light today because of that.

I think I am on the way back. This was the first time in over two weeks I did not feel like crap. I am going to try bootcamp tomorrow, and see how that goes.

I think I’m back. This was the first time in two weeks I did not feel at least a little sick. I still have a slight cough, but other than that, I’m good.

Today felt real good. Everything felt pretty light. During floor presses at 275 I kept hitting the rack and had to start over, so I just bailed.

Thing have turned personally too. I think my stuff at work is over. Plus I was offered a job this week. It pays about half of what I get now, so I will have to decline. With two kids and college (one going to law school next year) I can’t take that large of a hit. Still it’s nice to know people want me and I have options. On top of that our daughter called super happy the other night and said she got into the sorority she wanted. It always makes me happy, when she is happy.

Thanks. Like I said, I declined the job. I can’t take that much of a pay cut. The good news is people want me. I can draw my state pension on 12 months if I want. The school I work at part time wants to hire me fulltime when the position opens up. Since it is a private university I could draw my pension and still work there. Even with a reduced salary I would be earning more than I make now. I just need to hold on.

Today is my birthday, so I took the day off. It was a nice gift to lift with all my early morning crew. I am 49 today, and 365 days from being able to collect my pension if I want. Here’s to a good year…

I took today off of work to pick up my daughter at school for the three day weekend. It turns out her sorority is doing something tonight, so my trip is tomorrow.

I celebration of being almost 50 I cut back the volume and added my one board block. The only issue was on 405 I hit the bench coming up. I was able to complete the lift, but it was a war. It was not my best, but I am five months out from a meet, so I’m pretty happy.
