Last day of training in my university gym, heading back to my hometown tonight (and back to light full lifts and squats). Hit 95 snatch again to match a PR, missed 96kg 3 times, but felt pretty close on one or two of em.
Hit a new PR on clean and jerks though! Hit 115 finally.
I am not sure how many people have read my posts in the past little while, but I am very stoked to have finally stood up with this weight. I planned on calling it a workout after that, but then decided to do some squat jerks “for fun” hehe.

What do you PS? Attack the 2nd pull more and you’ll have the 97.5 in a few weeks imo.

Thanks for the tip. I haven’t done PS since my first month of training, I plan on doing some this week though.

Congrats on the 115!
If you hammer your FS up you can add a chunk on to your CJ. You look very strong over head. Focus on keeping it closer and not jumping forwards. It’s a very bad habit to get. It just means your letting the bar drift. The 90 you were a bit sloppy with. The 100 you kept it closer.
Use the time away to really focus and hammer your FS up Post some more squating videos
The 2nd and 3rd 96 you were really close on! Why not go for a few more singles?
FS 170x3 : felt good for a weekend session
Sn 110x 110x 110x 110 115x 115 120x had it but lost it, poor 120 most for the past 4 weeks

Snatched up to 60 today
shoulder still hurt in the front rack, so I did clean pulls instead and some remedial shoulder work.
first snatch at any given weight felt off, second felt better and third was easiest
30 3/3
40 2/2
50 1/1/1
55 1/1
60 1/x/x moved on
Clean pull
60 3
80 2
100 2/2/2
felt good to get lifting again, and it is much needed since I compete july 7. My shoulder feels a bit better now than it did this morning, so I’ll likely squat tomorrow, Sn and CJ heavy sunday and just do 75% on tuesday and thursday. looking forward to my first meet.
Clean and Squat Jerk[/b]
20kg (just the bar) x 5reps or so (It feels strange and different (duh!) and the flexibility wasn’t an issue so that was good)

50kg x 2r (no problems but feels heavier)

Last session before competing. today very easily could have been a maximum day, things just felt right. I’m looking forward to saturday because I get to lift big.

Snatch
60 x front
60
65 x 2:1 against
65 crisp in the warmup room lol
Clean and Jerk
85 x three red [judge came to check my right arm after, it doesn’t lock properly. he then told me how to let the other judges know]
85 easy
95 easy
Total 155
Bodyweight 70.2
Overall a great experience. It’s too bad that I didn’t get the 65 snatch on film, because I still have no idea why it got two reds. I also learned that I need to tell the judges beforehand about my right arm so that I don’t get red lights. Time to ante up for the next comp, November 3.

Nice lifting, congrats on your first meet! The first time out is an awesome experience and it looks like you handled the adrenaline and nerves really well.
When did the right arm lockout issues start? Everything looks fine in your older vids, is it related to your recent shoulder or wrist injuries?

Thanks. I feel good about it too.
My right arm is the same as it always has been. The right side is the one that has the most wrong with it because of my surgery, but the left side is the one that has seen both wrist and shoulder injuries lately (which are much better now).

Congrats on the comp mate!
With your right arm do you find it hard to lock out or you have to ‘hold’ the weight up as it’s not bone on bone with a locked joint? Just wondering.
If I lay my upper arm flat on a table and extend it as far as I can (trying to touch my wrist to the table), I can only get within an inch of the table. If I do the same with my left arm, wrist hits table with no problem.
I don’t feel like I have to hold it up like a press, if that’s what you mean. It feels locked to me, just doesn’t look it.
I’m going to do a bunch of stretching on anything that flexes the elbow, since I can’t get into a full extension and see if that helps. Is there anything else I can do?

I’d be careful about stretching your elbows mate…
Yeah I was wondering if you had to hold it up like a press or not.
