Terrible performance at a meet but it was fun anyhow =D

Barely made weight because of the positioning of the moon :stuck_out_tongue:

Because I was missing so many snatches this past couple of weeks I had no confidence and power snatched all my attempts and had a pressout on the last one (not a terrible powersnatch of 55kg though- I would have been happy with it in training). I missed a clean! I never miss a clean! I really need to practice lifting in front of people. My numbers in the end were okay, 4/6 with 52 snatch and 65 C&J, despite terrible lifts. My meet coach said I can snatch 65kg with my pull if I can get some confidence  My jerks were better though!

im actually a big fan of the snatch grip military presses. I saw Klokov doing them and thought i would try them for fun.

I really focus on externally rotating my elbows the whole time and i find it improves my overhead stability at the bottom of the snatch.

not to heavy, about 60-65kg for 3-4 reps, but i now do them about once a week.

You MP 60-65kg wide grip from behind head? Or you push press it?

It’s a learning process but yeah it sucks to underperform! Next comp and have faith in your technique!

And Koing: he snatched a PR ;)
That isn’t all he did!

Koing
Oh I know. Hes set a CJ PR too. So are you coming or what?

haha, but I’m heavier right? First time I MP 85 for 2 singles…did miss 87 3x :stuck_out_tongue: lol.

I’m 100kg right now (on the dot) so you tell me… hehe.

If you are heavier, then I counter that with I’ve been MP’ing for a good couple months now. You just added it in.
94.2kg at the comp. I’ll do some MP, probably hit 88 fairly soon I’d imagine. Probably take forever to hit 90…

100 is a lot. How tall are you?

153x jerk, should have taken 145…but went for glory, failed miserably on the Jerk, Clean felt crazy heavy…

poor total…

I think next time I’ll reign in the glory lifts as it wasn’t going to happen, it was early and cold, it just wasn’t going to happen…

I actually burst out laughing at “positioning of the moon” haha. Was this your first competition ever? And was there a short guy there in the 105s who clean and jerked 175? (I’ve got a guess as to what comp it was I think . . . )

No, I only lifted like it was my first one =D It was a bad day for lifting for me.

I can’t confirm that or you’ll be able to look me up

I live in a small village in Quebec and our meets are in the barn…C’est vrai!

Koing, yeah I was hoping to at least attempt 67 or 69 but I’m okay with 65kg this time

Ah, gotcha. Well, remember . . . ah shit, I was gonna put something motivating here about the measure of one’s resolve after a setback but my brain is fried haha. You know what I mean.

And I won’t pry, I can respect one’s need for privacy. Though I will say if you’re in Quebec you could be in a position to come watch nationals this year. And there’s nothing wrong with lifting in a barn. And that’s the last I’ll speak on the subject.

military press, pretty strict imo, just kinda use the breathing to get the weight moving.

12/19/11

A. 3-position snatch (floor, above knee, hip) - 5 sets - 60 kg

B. 2 power jerks + 1 jerk - 5 sets - 60 kg

C. Snatch Pull - 5 x 5 - 175 lbs

D1. BTN push press - 4 x 6 - 155 lbs
D2. Ring pull-ups (pronated to supinated) - 4 x 5

E1. Single-leg dorsiflexion w/ band - 3 x 15
E2. Tibialis posterior toe raise - 3 x 15

Crazy…I doubt I could do 50?!

Bro did some jumps yesterday, Chi jump ~ 140cm - YouTube he jumped at least an inch or two higher as well afterwards. Crazy how springy he looks!

He has really come along this year.
71/91 to 88/111

He has set himself 110/130 for end of next year!

His first International in the Tri-Nations in February. He was called for it in Sweden in May/ June but he had exams and couldn’t make it. Really happy for him.

Koing

that’s a beast jump from a standstill. I’ve done 152cm with a full run up, but I wouldn’t be able to clear 140 from a standstill.

I have to try some jumps tonight! I did a 45 cm jump up my wall at home a little while ago. I measured by putting a post it at my highest reach and then slapped one as high as I could go.

Did some jumps last friday, on a pommel horse, about 1,1 m high. Hurt my left adductor, never gonna jump again
