Left knee is hurting a fair bit.

first time hitting 100:

Looks good mate!

You open up well but then you don’t really attack the bar after the initially opening up.

Really pull through the middle of the second pull to finish.

Good speed under.

The above will take you to the next level ‘when you get it’.

I know it’s made me a lot more powerful and I haven’t had a session where I didn’t at least Sn 120. I may have missed it the first or third or forth time though :stuck_out_tongue: Last 3 sessions were

120
122
124 and I did 120 for the previous 3 or 4 sessions prior to that so I’m on a hot Snatch streak

recovering from squats :-/

not sure that i have got particularly stronger… it is just that low bar back squatting feels like a comfortable movement for me in a way that front squats simply don’t seem to. because my knees can’t come forwards more… got pinned in the hole with a 35kg clean again today, but standing up a 35kg snatch even when i accidentally hit a loose bottom position is no problem.

maybe i’ll start training overhead squats more (to help my jerks) and back squats more (to get me used to loading). front squats… well… i can still powerclean significantly more. damn my body. i think it needs to be shot…

Does stretching and foam rolling help with the ankle flexibility… even slowly?

today

power snatch up to 90 +5kgs PR. I tried to video this one but my camera decided not to work :frowning:

power clean and jerk up to 100. equal PR. This 100 felt a lot harder than the previous one.

I figured out why my cleans made me dizzy. Now I take the breath before I get completely set up(which I do and then inititate the lift) and then I set up completely and flex my abs and initiate the lift. Kinda weird cause I don’t know why what I was doing before was messing me up but it worked.

I also think I found out how to get more power from the cleans. Donny shankle(and many lifters) lifts the bar up with his arms to get it to his hips. I instead figured I’d just initiate the lift with the shoulders shrugged up from the start and all the way through the pull. Well… it works. lol. Shoulders up and forward. Its probably not ideal but it seems to work for me right now pretty darn well.

Knees are hurting. Lifting again monday so lets see how well they’ll have recovered by then. If all goes well I’ll probably squat first thing then do a somewhat light session.

ape, do you ever try turning your wrists in after the 2nd pull to keep the bar closer to the body? It might help you catch it on your heels more consistently

you mean like cock the wrists toward my body?

Thanks for the advice. I’ll try to pull more aggressively all the way through. Sill don’t have a coach though, so it’s tough to learn this shit.
