well my shin splint (left tibia) is just from lots of squatting. That’s the only pain I get it from, is deep in the squat with my knees pushed over the toes. Just gotta work on strengthening the TA. My left foot also broke in 3 places a few years ago so now it’s flat, so the whole left shin is probably going to be prone to injuries.[/quote]
I see.
The flat foot has to be the main thing f0cking with your shin man
Just got to manage it as best as you can. My back is proper stiff on Saturday mornings I just got to make do with whatever I can manage on Saturday mornings.
Meet went so so. finished with 98/116. only made openers, for good reason.
Hit the opener on the snatch and was 11kg ahead of 2nd place. So I went for 103kg (PR + 1kg) and over pulled. Head ref yelled “too light!”. Decided to go 105kg, first pull flew, so I underestimated it and didn’t snap in as fast for my 2nd pull. The good news is I’m getting stronger.
Hit my opener on the clean and jerk. Went for 121 (PR + 1kg) hit both cleans but just couldn’t get the jerk. What a shame! My jerks are my weakest lift and I’m definetly gonna invest more time into it now.
Trained today. Hang snatched my opener (98kg) for a single. That’s an 8kg PR on my hang snatch. jerked from rack up to 110kg. Definetly feeling some improvement coming.

I clipped too much off of one of my callouses the other day and it ended up tearing, so I taped it today and decided to keep it light with power cleans so grip wouldn’t be an issue.
Pretty good session. The 110 was rightttt on the edge of being a PC or not, may have dropped a bit below parallel. Anyway, I just hope my hands feel a bit better for tomorrow.

Feel like I’ve been hit by a bus today, going to have a nap before training. See if it makes me feel any better. Feeling ready for bristol now!
tried to do some snatching and clean and jerking today. Then some front and back squats, then some holds at quarter squat for 30 seconds.
All done with 40-50 kilos. About 4 sets for each.
Doing plenty of back raises as well. And my back feels a lot better in general(what a surprise)
Knee didn’t really hurt much. I think it was on the edge before it would start hurting. I’m gonna do next session all with 50 kgs, then try 60.
I think this is an opportunity to learn to do a good clean pull. Some of the ones I did today were really good, kept really close and there was little to no forward momentum in the bar. Since it will take a while to get back into it fully, I should be able to learn this and get strong to pull this way(bringing the bar to the hip)

Driving to training on the motorway…car infront of me slammed on, I slammed on and ended up in a car sandwich. My car’s totaled, by the looks of things. My neck is killing, when the car went into the back of me my head hit something behind me.
So, Bristol is going to be out, so is training for the next few weeks. The shrug during the lifts is going to be impossible. Wont be able to front squat cause my upper back is chuffed.
