-[][][]---OL Log 3---[][][]-

Going to give oly lifting a try to change up my training. Have been doing 5/3/1 for 6 months or so but omitting is really fun and I want to learn the lifts. I’m planning on keeping up with the 5/3/1 progresses for a while but with more focus on olift assistance instead of PL assistance. I figure this is the best place to come and make sure I’m not doing dumb stuff in training.

I am looking into starting lifting at a local club but for now the gym I train at has bumpers and a platform.

Lifts are
SQ 225x5
DL 320x6
BP 165x6
OHP 105x7

From my last cycle if 5/3/1

Did cleans yesterday before squatting
Bar many x many
Trying to drill positions as per Glenn pendlays awesome videos.

40kg 3-4 x 3
50kg same
60kg 2x3
70kg 2x3
80kg 2x3

Only failed on a few lifts but my pulls are not consistent. Was catching some in a deep squat and others were more power clean height.

—last set was 2doubles assisted by a friend.

DB Curl (sitting on incline bench):
-3sets

Curls on cable machine:
-3sets

Planks:
-bw 1min x2
-bw+45lb plate 45sec x3

TUESDAY

C&J - heavy single - 280 lbs, caught 280 higher than usual but there was so much power in there that it didn’t matter! Think I’m ready for 290 soon.

Squat - 81% x 3 x 10 - 300 lbs. This was a bitch as usual.

Push Press - 81% x 5 x 5 - 165 lbs. First 2 sets were sluggish, last 3 were much more explosive.

Bike ride home = hard. Fuckin’ squats.

WEDNESDAY

Power Snatch - 68% x 2 x 3 - 170 lbs

Power C&J - 69% x 2 x 3 - 195 lbs

Chins - 4 x 5 - BW/+5/+10/+15/+20 (BW is 235ish)

Prowler - 10-15 mins worth

lol… yeah man… this Russian Back Squat routine is leaving my lower back on the edge, so I don’t do anything heavy off the floor. That leaves time for curls 'n shit.

Clean off the High hang:
-up to 85kg 2reps
-then 90kg, 0,0,… 0,0,

…I feel like I’ve lost some power, and I can’t keep as tight as I used to. I’ve done this weight before easy. But this is the 2nd time in two weeks that I can’t get 90kg off the high hang, so I am not sure whats going on.
–Could the high Back Squat volume be chipping at my speed a little bit???

Back Squat:
-115kg 6x2
–not hard, and my lower back is starting to feel better :slight_smile:

–this shit is hard… but is the best way to get the mid+upper back strong.

Snatch Pulls - 90% x 3 x 3 - 225 lbs (felt incredibly light!)

Ab wheel - 1x9, 1x6

*3-pos Snatch was sloppy. Haven’t lifted since Thursday. Form wasn’t that off but I wasn’t very tight at the bottom. It also felt heavier than normal.

Eh… I just felt like lifting to be honest, lol. If it was heavy squats, I wouldn’t have. But I only when up to 70%… it wasn’t quite ‘active recovery’ but it felt nice to at least some blood in the legs. Active recovery day is tomorrow though, I need to find a place to swim!
