You should already be doing some sit ups:P

I do some conditioning after my back squats sometimes. But more recently I’ve been doing a lot of upperbody stuff as I stupidly keep injuring my f0cking knee by doing other sports…I am the push up master! BP 100 x 10reps x 3sets having only BP no more then 10x this year. Helps to weigh 90kg when doing strict push ups, chest to floor, paused lock out at the top. I also do it on DB and a barbell so I an get a different angle, depth. My shoulder doesn’t like BP so I don’t do it often.

Koing
Hey that’s pretty good man. This year I started to do weighted close grip push ups. Great assistance exercise. But althougth I kept progressing (made my 3 rep max into a 8 rep max) the movement still felt like a real grinder. I got fed up. Now I do just regular push ups, trying to up my 25 rep max to 50 reps. Get some basic endurance and strength. I believe it could work, yours seem to work nicely.
I haven’t done weighted push ups in a while. I could do 20kg plate on my shoulders for 10reps x 3sets, normaly push ups I can hit 55 strict, other day I did 3sets of 30.

Yours will feel like a grinder if you go heavy and only do 3-8reps man!

Is 25 weighted or not mate? Yeah it’s just basic strength endurance.

Koing

25 is just my bodyweight. I just realised that I was little confusing when I talked about close grip and regular push ups.

Why the “?”

I have an equipped powerlifting competition this sunday so I haven’t really been weightlifting. The Northern Open - 21st November 2010 I am looking to as my next weightlifting competition where I would like to snatch 110 and Jerk 150 in the 105 class…

Tuesday 7/9/2010

80kg 2x3
100kg x 1,1
120kg x 1,1

Lifting at the Univ gym… I keep the squat stands in my trunk and taken them to the gym since the club got kicked out of the univ’s Sports Club program.

Stretch the legs and take the squat stands back to the car…
Why did you guys get kicked out?

WEDNESDAY, great lifting today

C&J - heavy single - 275 lbs

Back Squat - 78% x 3 x 10 - 290 lbs (hard as shit)

Push Press - 75% x 5 x 5 - 155 lbs

Circuit - 5 sets (no rest):

 1. 10 push-ups
 2. 10 ankle-grab sit-ups

^This circuit is harder than it looks when you try to complete it as fast as possible. Martin Rooney says to get this in 100 secs… of course it took me like 5 minutes lol.

The head biotch of the University’s Sports Club wants thing run exactly by the book, which means that every Sports Club must have at least 15 active members at EVERY PRACTICE. On top of that we ain’t supposed to drop the weights after club hours, nor ever use chalk. Plus we need to have a real coach.

Now the dropping weights and chalk issues she doesn’t know about because she doesn’t see our practices. The only thing she keeps an eye is on the # of people, since I have to submit weekly activity reports. As for the coach, the ex-president got his club coach certification, although he never goes I say that he does.

-Unfortunately we only have 3 decent bars, one pair of 10’s, two pairs of 15’s,20’s & 25’s, and ONLY two platforms. In addition 1 squat stands, and 2 squat racks.

Right now the Weightlifting Club is not part of Sports Clubs… meaning we don’t get $$ to buy new equipment, nor do we get exclusive and extra hours (like starting 1hr before the gym opens to the public, and having the gym open on Saturdays).

The only guy who know about Oly Lifting, and does all the coaching is “yours truly”.

…that’s the gist of it.

There’s a pic in there somewhere. I love them, feels good in my abs and hips, doesn’t hurt my back or neck.

And x2 on the squats. Squats it seems doesn’t take much out of me afterwards, like it isn’t too hard on the CNS or whatever.
