Official 2020 T-ransformation Announcement Thread

I guess I am still in. I gave up potato chips like 2 days ago, so I like my chances.

Honestly, my after pic will be an effort to get a bit of a tan, get all greased up, attempt to push out in certain places whilst simultaneously sucking in other places. May airbrush some of those fake abs people sometimes do.

LOL this is pretty close to where I am. I’ve been having a bagel, or bowl of cereal, or both, with breakfast daily. And snacking as hard as I want/can all day. Wife reminded me we’re having family photos done in a week so I dropped the breakfast carbs a couple days ago. But by no means ALL the carbs - there’s still sugar in my coffee; and plenty of carbs and whatever-we-have and whatever-i-want during the rest of the day.

Carbs are underrated as a natural source of happiness.

Solid strategy.

Mind if I use it?

I was just really feeling great about things. Weights set up on my side porch, getting good sessions in on warm sunny mornings, then splat.

We get this record breaking arctic cold snap from the north.

Oh well. It will be ok.

Hey @Chris_Colucci I was a late starter here… I posted a couple of before pics back in February I believe. Didn’t get tagged in the roll call.

A better strategy would to have been not announcing it to the world. Seems we both need to learn how to better play this little game. My next tactic is just to find some photo from some random log and post that and pretend it is me.

There’s one in my log if you want. It’s from about 11 years ago, so no one will recognize it. Hell, I don’t even recognize it anymore. :joy:

I’ll post my after pic in two weeks

Pretty close to where I am, too, but I was thinking the 15th makes a nice round date to make the needed dietary changes to really crush this thing, so I’m still three days out from The Big Cut.

Gonna finish.

I’m definitely still in. Despite the virus and the world on the verge of apocalypse I definitely feel like I can post a decent after.

Down 7lbs from the start of the year but up 5 from where I was, only slightly regret those times I posted all the lasagna and pizza I was eating…

Deadlift jumped from 385lbs to 435, just 10lbs under my PR set back in Dec 2018.

Looking to finish strong and not rebound after the challenge for a change, thinking maintain or drop a bit more and get back in shape

Weight is up about eight pounds from Day One, and waist is about an inch bigger. Managed to add about 1/2" to upper arms - a focus area. Will see about shoulder circumference.

Plan is to continue my makeshift DC by DB bodybuilding program for the next two weeks, then spend the last week of May on a deload/cut to lose as much BF as I can for the Transformation photo Friday the 29th.

@Chris_Colucci I’m still in!
(having a home gym is cool :sunglasses:)

Heres my entry, shitty lighting and whatnot, but I’m probably not gonna get much leaner than this this year. Remember I’m doing the ā€œlongevity categoryā€ or whatever it was called so no before pics from this year. I’m probably never gonna be ā€œdad bodā€ but with a wife and 2 kids to feed now its harder every year to make separate food for my diet. Not gonna lie, I didnt really tighten the screws this year (meaning there was something almost every day I could have done better, whereas in preivous contests and years I would go 6 days quite easily with no dietary missteps) so theres still plenty of room for improvement, and lots of room to add cardio… but given that I’m about as lean as I want to be relatively ā€œpain freeā€ Im feeling pretty good about it.

I swear I look leaner in person, the camera is adding 10 pounds… all of it around my mid section some how. Couldnt just be my mind playing tricks on me, naw…

Mate if your camera adds 10 then mine must add 40 !! Looking good.

I’m still in even though I’m not certain I’ve taken the best path for ā€œphysiqueā€ competition.

Not to turn this thread into a log, but first peaking heavy squat day today. Hit 394 for a 3x3. For reference, my last powerlifting competition (which was a few years ago and a few pounds lighter) I only hit a 400 pound squat. Right now I could probably get that for 5 or 6. I’ve finally built a decent squat technique (it only took 20 years). Yes, I know this aren’t perfect, I loose tightness a few places, early ones were on the high side (I was a bit scared of the weight), and the last rep I really let my hips shoot up, BUT this is infinitely better than how I’ve lifted the past 20 years. Even that last rep isn’t bad for me. I started off following ā€œwestsideā€ in powerlifting and always tried to stay on my heals. I’ve finally started figuring out rooting my feet thus getting even foot pressure and it’s revolutionized my squats.

You look pretty lean - good job!

I swear this is my curse too! There’s got to be a way to make my phone take better pictures or something, but it’s just too depressing to look at what it’s giving me. Clearly it’s a jealous liar and just trying to bring you down.

I will be adding a pic for the yearly entry again, although I feel I’ve made some great progress i doubt it will be that visible in a picture!

Not my official after pic yet, but I’d like to pat myself on the back a little bit.
