Boys are just harder, man, and everything takes them longer. If I’d had my daughter first, I’d have been really concerned about my son.
I had two girls and then my son and for the last 7 years I have thought he is broken !!!
If they came with a warranty, there’d be a lot of returns
Yer for sure. Sometimes when my wife or get very stressed (almost angry at times) we have to remind each other that 1) we chose to do this and that 2) they are children and are only behaving like children. What we need to do is behave like calm adults instead of children ourselves. It is not always easy to do.
You’re doing it wrong, you’re supposed to hit em harder!
Haha, really need that sarcasm font! I’ve two to if my own 10 and 7 and found over the years that sanctions work best when used properly i.e. actually enforced, also we found the naughty step worked very well in younger years.
Time out time for the win.
We’ve also built a reward/relaxing time into the nightly routine. Getting rid of Ben and Holly time is a pretty reliable threat.
Haha I remember the Ben and Holly days, so much better than Peppa Pig!
For sure, definitely got an upgrade there.
I liked to use it along with “you can come back when you’re nice” rather than as a set time. I think it encourages the development of self-control because they’re in charge of how long it lasts. Then bigger consequences if they came back and were still buttheads.
Still going strong here. I live in the mountains and we did a walk last night that generally has my heart really pounding during the hardest part, and it was just easy.
Still down two pounds, but I’m not really trying on that score - mostly trying not to go crazy and gain.
How’s your daughter doing?
Good, thanks!
Whelp, pretty sure I’ve put on the Covid-19 at this point…
This is going to be a really interesting year for me. I’m probably going to finish at the same weight at which I started. My after photo will answer one big question: has my training had any impact on my physique? If the answer turns out to be no then I’ll have to use strength as my measuring stick. If that’s still the same then I’ll probably start working out less because what’s the point.
This was my goal !! Lol
And this was my goal!
Just kidding. I still like doing it
My pulling workouts have been brutal this week. I think I’m doing too much. I fear that I’ll soon be able to say “I’ve been doing all this work just to look the same?”
On the plus side, my push workout felt great on Wednesday. I’m hoping for a repeat Sunday.
On the plus side, you earn the “permission” to do less
Something I’ve noticed this last week. When I used to eat more than 200 carbs a day I felt horrible and bloated. Now that I’ve maintained sub 210lbs for last month, I can eat carbs all day and feel great.
So how are you guys doing?
It has been two weeks for us under a lock down and I am doing a home office. This has hit me so hard that I was pretty stressed. I have to admit I was one of these panic buyers, but I made 2 food packages for an under quarantine situation if either me or my grandma gets sick.
Anyway for 14 days I made 4 half assed work outs. 1 with a run outside for 1.5 - 2 km, and the rest with some push ups and a 10 kg dumbbell.
At least my died is on point. I have been kind of fasting eating 2 meals per day, one at lunch when we have our home office rest hour at around 1 pm and one post work at around 7 pm. I ve lost some weight, but I am lethargic and barely move.
Since we are moving back to office (yeah my boss is that dumb), I will try wake up early and go for a run before everyone wakes up and police blocking the park entrance and some push ups and chins post that. I really have no motivation to work out in home. It just feels strange to me.
