Official 2020 T-ransformation Announcement Thread

I’m down a few pounds, but I think I’ve finally adjusted to my weight now. I dont feel sluggish, my lifts feel great. I just wanted to lose weight due to how bogged down and heavy I felt.

But now i feel fantastic, my pull-ups are a breeze (my go to gauge for my weight increase), I did 5×5 with 300 on squats yesterday and felt good enough to slam out lunges to failure, my deadlifts seem much better when wearing shoes now, as opposed to barefoot. (I dont account this to being good or bad… must just be some physiological difference with weighing an extra 30lbs) and my bench is steadily climbing…

So I may not have any amazing physique change for the challenge, but hopefully I’ll have some cool increase in maxes to display.

A ~3 week update from the late starter…

I have dedicated my life to eating. When I’m not lifting, I’m eating. A little downtime at work? I eat. As I’m typing this I’m eating a triple decker peanut butter sandwich, which is following my shredded pork and sweet potato lunch #1 I ate 2 minutes ago. I had 2 breakfast wraps a couple of hours ago. Later, I’ll eat a banana, 3/4 liter of milk with a scoop of whey. After work I’ll eat. Then dinner. Then another dinner… I’ve been consistently eating like this for about 18 days.

I’m only up two lbs, and I’m on a deload this week. I do not see how it’s possible I’m not gaining more weight.

I kind of outlined this in my log, but I’m going to start dedicating at least one meal a week to go out and get the most calorie dense food I can find and pack as much away as I possibly can.

Jebus cripes, dude. Are you actually counting how many calories that is per day?

No I haven’t counted calories or macros. I think I’d be pretty depressed if I did. I’m pretty certain I’m getting enough protein, and I don’t really care about carbs or fat intake. I feel pretty healthy so I’m not very worried about it. No predisposition or genetic ties to heart issues or high cholesterol or anything like that.

I do this thing usually a few times a month where, accidentally and out of pure time constraints (excuse) but really it’s lack of effort, I’ll end up not eating for a weekend or skip lunch at work a few days in a row. I was chalking my weight gaining issues up to that but I’ve been extremely vigilant about eating every meal, and finishing what I have packed or on my plate these past 3 weeks. I figured the scale would have shown something by now. Maybe it’ll catch up to me in a few more weeks but until then I’m just going to roll with it.

I used to be similar (drank 2 litres of milk a day, ate about 600 cals of nuts on top of normal meals 4 times a day and shakes), but I think the biggest change was eating more cal dense food, drop some of the clean stuff and get some heavy cal meals in (I ate 2 x 900 cal pizzas last night, probably won’t have gained weight though as I’m not consistently eating high or trying to gain right now).

Eat some fried cheese sandwiches (butter both sides of the bread thickly put a lot of cheese in there and fry it) I can easily eat 4k cals and not feel overly full.

Not saying that you should eat like this permanently or its healthy but if you’re struggling to gain and feeling the strain of non stop force feeding, with very little success give yourself license to push the healthy stuff aside for a bit.

(Went from 150 to 215 over a few years this way with very little change in BF)

I definitely appreciate the advice- I do eat almonds every once and a while when I have them, usually between jobs in the van since they’re easy to grab a handful. I should definitely start doing that again

Not sure if I eat clean as it is though. My usual dinner consists of 0.75 to 1 lb of meat (usually ribeye or chuckeye steak. Tonight will be sirloin, which is very lean compared to the other two. Regardless I drown all cuts in butter before I eat them), some sort of vegetables(for health haha) and a double wrapped burrito consisting of 6-8 eggs, an advocado, usually some vegetables like kale or spinach and cheese.

I’m hoping the fast food splurge once a week will help kickstart something. Probably not the healthiest option but like you said, I’m hoping not to have to make it a long term thing.

That all sounds like clean eating to me, but then I’m really not a good example of eating for health, so my opinion on that is skewed. You’re still in the 170’s? If you’re struggling that bad might be worth weighing everything and tracking it meticulously.

On the other hand sound like your doing it right, you are gaining and 2lbs in 18 days isn’t bad, particularly if you’re training hard, it’s near a lb a week which given the rate of muscle gain supposedly being 0.5lb per week maximum, puts you on track for good lean gains as long as the training is sufficient to stimulate growth.

It doesn’t really matter though

I’m 199lb as of this morning.

I guess you’re right, I just figured with the amount I’m eating I’d see quicker weight gain. Trying to rush it isn’t going to help any.

Lol good to know! Taco Bell it is from here on out!!

Not having to eat clean does not equal being able to eat whatever you want in whatever quantity all the time, just to clarify. Why do people always seem to get the two mixed out?

The point is that there are factors that matter WAY more than eating clean.

I know, I know I was just kidding. There would be no way I could feel ok about myself if I was eating only taco Bell.

By the way, were you/do you track calories?

Wow- awesome progress!!

I use an app called myfitnesspal (when I track cals), it’s easy to use, got a barcode scanner, remembers previous food and has a multi add feature, about as easy calorie tracking gets.

So I’m down 2,5 kgs in 5 weeks and I’ve been filling up my muscles back. Though I still eat too much shit and drink too much alcohol. No distractions this week-end ahead

Pretty sure the alcohol actually burns all the other calories.

I guess I am down like 5.5 kilo overall, but that is more like since the start of December. That’s like 12 pounds in the language of the infidels. I still feel like semi-fat scum.

My update , from 84kg @ 22% bf , down to 83.9kg @20% bf . Weekly logs have helped keep me on track. Actually happy im loosing fat while still slowley making muscle gains. Slow and steady wins the race as they say. At this rate by This Xmas i may even be ~15% bf . And 12 by next summer .
P.S all you people who stuggle to gain weight and are bulking , i hate you
