I understand what you’re saying now.
I guess my plan now is to get comparatively fat.

This meme is the entire point of my existence. I feel like I am on the cusp of having it figured out.
I dinged 80.0kg over the weekend, so that was something of a milestone. I think I started right around 85kg in early December. So obviously, I have to start getting ready for speedo season, and that means ab work. As such, here’s a video of my entire ab session from Saturday:
How do you find the motivation to do abs? I hate it
That’s mightily strong work there!
I don’t have the motivation to do abs. Which is why I do these rolls instead. One standing rollout is worth like 47 thousand other ab exercises. Okay, that’s a fairly rough estimate. And I did more than just the one.
Same mindset for me. Find the hardest ab variation you can and do a couple sets of 8ish like you would with anything else.
Inverted sit ups
Standing ab wheel
Dragon flags
Heavy cable crunch
I’d like to do abs risk-free. I still do abs. Sometimes it goes well.
Time to lose the 4 lbs I gained over the weekend. We used our anniversary and my wife’s birthday as an excuse to drink and eat everything in sight. Buffalo wings. Cheesecake Factory. Brunch at Whiskey Cake. It was capped off with a late night trip to Whataburger last night after closing the bar. I did have a killer leg day workout saturday morning that still has me limping at least.
Yeah… It’s just that I didn’t notice any difference over the years in the apparence of my abs whether I was doing them for a period or not.
Did you train them as hard and consistently as you did, say, your biceps? If you do you should expect to see similar growth. A lot early on but tapering until you hit a relatively hard plateau.
More than my biceps lol I once spent a year without arms training ahah.
Usually was heavy cable crunches (whole stack) with a slow tempo to focus on the burn for around 10 reps, then roman chair crunches max reps with slow tempo. 3 sets almost every day + carries + the ocasional ab-wheel
Whew. Long weekend away with family and friends who like to drink. One saving grace is that the friends are low-carb, so while I ate my bodyweight in animal fats, I didn’t touch a cookie.
I don’t think the scale will be terribly affected and I haven’t missed a gym trip (though I failed to keep up calisthenics thru the weekend).
Beach trip is 2 more weeks away!
Looking phenomenal man
Yer you still look awesome @jackolee.
The BB in me wants to cut and look like you (err dreaming) but the powerlifter in me says pass me that rice.
Yeah I see your squat videos with a little envy. Thanks man and keep up those gainzzz
Thanks man! Looking pretty jacked yourself!
Jack! That back is… AWESOME!
Appreciate it brother! Late and back were my main focus last year. This year it’s gonna be biceps and overall size… oh yeah and rehabbing the ACL.
