Another better late than never arrival. My best body comp start in three years of Transforming. Primary goal will be to do no harm.

Jan. 4, 2020

age: 52.5 yrs
height: 5’5"

weight: 148 lbs
waist: 32.25"
shoulder circumference: 45"
right upper arm relaxed: 13.5"

Specifically for this season, secondary goal is to add upper body size (shoulders, arms) and strength, lose an inch at the waist. Third, keep weight at or below 148 lbs.

Goals: For the transformation, just get bigger. If I can lean out a bit towards the end that would be great, but I need to get some meat on my bones.

Thanks - I really credit the forums and the Transformation challenges for helping keep me accountable.

Now might have been a bad time to discover that I can add Peanut Oil to the bottom of my natty PB jars and revitalize that hard, thick disk of PB at the bottom and bring it back to liquidy-life, thus making it easier to consume…

I pour hot water into it, add a scoop of hot chocolate and stir it up, then drink it out the jar. Hot chocolate peanut on the go with only a spoon to wash, I admit it works better with smooth!

Okay! After being sick for a week and popping on almost three pounds - we canceled a NYE party, then sat around wiping our noses and eating the party food while binging 6 seasons of Ray Donovan - I’m ready to go back to work and pull myself back into shape.

Food is all prepped (pics coming) and I’m drinking coffee in my workout clothes.

READY.

I meant to post before I left. But here we go.

Edit:

Starting Weight 255

Plan of action: Lots of weighted vest walking

Weights when joints/muscles allow

OMAD.

Come June 1st I’ll have either results…or excuses.

Pretty much day 1 for me (awful pic in my log).

I’m following the vertical diet and doing Monster Maker (AthleanX) if anyone’s interested. Current weight is 224. Shooting for 170. We’ll see how close I get during this challenge.

More of a pondering than needing an answer, but-

Why do we gain weight by the pound but only lose it by the gram?!?

It’s because you’re not paying attention when you gain it. You’re living life and having fun. When it’s time to lose it, there’s no fun. There’s only hunger and bad cravings and expecting/hoping every hour spent hungry equals a half pound lost.

Same reason an hour goofing around on TNation goes so much faster than an hour of cardio.

~sigh~

Although I’m honestly glad to be back at work today with my pre-planned foods. It’s a relief after feeling so completely out of control. That didn’t happen until I got sick, the rest of the holiday season was relatively controlled (bad behaviors followed by good), but once I was sick in a house full of party food…game over.

Here is my eating plan for the next several days, but add salads, riced cauliflower, and eggs for breakfast.

Yeah. I look at the ā€œcalories burnedā€ estimate in the bike thingy and think ā€œOK, 300 cals. Approx 1/3 was fat. 100 cals fat=10 grams. 10 grams is about 1/3 of an ounce. Fuck.ā€. :joy:

Down 2lbs already. Before you all claim water and glycogen stores yadi yadi… I’ve been dieting since 11/1 and have lost 12lbs since then. I’m 8 lbs away from the magic 2bills, which I haven’t been under since I was 15. Considering I’ll be 30 at the end of next month, I’m hoping I lose 8 lbs by then.

Counterpoint:

It’s easy to overeat by a lot, it’s not easy to under eat by a lot.

If my maintenance calories are 2500 a day, it’s real easy to knock out 4000 calories worth of crap in a day, its not easy to balance that out with the 1000 calories day that would be needed to break even.
