take this plausible hypothetical. A drunk person (pretty damn drunk but for whatever reason they are a great driver). They drive straight on the road, no weaving. They get in an accident, and kill someone. Now it has been shown in numerous studies that alcohol impairs judgement and reaction time. The forensics recreate the accident, and find that the drunk may have had time to avoid the car. Should the drunk be locked up for a really long time, why or why not? Also what if it was a sober but very old and poor seeing person instead of the drunk. What about them?
Yeas dman, they should be locked up. If they drove while drunk, than they decided that the risk of possibly killing someone wasn’t scary enough to keep them off the road. Folks, it’s a nobrainer. If they are drunk…they are impaired. It would be crazy to not take drunks off the road.
