This was taken after 2 months playing around in the gym 2 days a week, after a 10 year layoff from weights with minimal physical activity. I basically look the same when untrained.

Daily diet in this time frame consisted of 4 coffees with 6 sugars each cup, 1 macdonalds bigmac meal at lunch, 1 can of pringles smoky babarcue flavor, 1/4 btl of chivas and high fat restaurant food at dinner. Being a creature of habit, I ate the same crap everyday except at dinner.

Now, @Quasi tech, please, what im really really interested in is knowing more about Capt Kirk threatening someone at the seminar! Thanks! :)
I think I would weigh 160 if that’s what I ate erry day. And my stomach would eat itself. How do you do survive?

Ryan, if everyone was knowledgable after two years of training, John Meadows wouldn’t have made the drastic improvements he did by experimenting and trying new workout programs and regimes. We are constantly discovering new things about ourselves, and the world about building muscle and understanding the human body. I would not close my mind off to what is out there or available.

If you have reached that point where you not what works for you, when to change your programming, frequency, volume, etc. then you are well on your way, and I’m not being sarcastic. Many of us can’t make such claims.

Wow… This turned into a clusterfuck… Quickly lol.
Max has a pretty nice.physique. I saw him a few years ago in Musclemag. I think hd has nice capped delts.
He’s Rom may ‘suck’ to some but, you can’t argue the END result and in bodybuilding, that’s what counts.
My God these threads go hell all the time.
He was admiringly commenting on this new pro and aspires to one day look similar to this and now ut turns into a mob.
Some are just waiting for X to post anything to jump all over his thread like a bitch in heat, some are in it for a healthy debate about physique, what are you here for?

As for Kirk, I went to a strength training seminar at Greyskull Barbell Club, you may have heard of Johnny Pain. His special guest was Captain Kirk Karwoski. Dude was massive, very knowledgeable and infinitely intense. I asked a boatload of question during the first half hour because everyone else was too shy (I guess) to voice their questions. He took time to help everyone with their form, he gave us his 10 steps on how to Squat, talked about little tips and quirks for form, etc.

Anywho, at the party after the training seminar, one of the guys from the Greyskull forum was being a smartass. Had some impressive lifts for his weight, but he was a rather skinny dude. He apparently made some comment to Kirk that wasn’t particularly taken well, and Kirk told him if he didn’t move away he was going to throw his ass through the wall.

Kirk also told a funny story (not meant to be funny but an example of his training intensity) of how the one gym he trained at for his 1000lb World Record Squat he hit every day at 5 pm after work. He’d gotten close one day to killing someone driving there because they road raged at him for stopped traffic. Said when he got out of the car the dude rolled up his windows and locked the doors. Then after getting there, some kid was at his Squat rack. Kirk trained with about 3-4 guys and everyone in the gym knew when he lifted and where (it was a commercial type gym but there were some hardcore dudes there). Kirk told said lackey he had 5 minutes to get out of the rack and when he got back the kid better be gone. Kirk got back from changing and the kid was still in the rack. Kirk threw the 135lbs or whatever it was, grabbed the kid by his scruff and literally tossed him out the gym doors. Kid never returned.

Kirk was an awesome dude to talk to though. If you showed respect and interest he’d talk for hours, and he had the info to do it. He said he ate every 2 hours, would wake up at 3 am to eat grilled chicken and roll over and fall back asleep. I got his card at the seminar and he mentioned possibly doing his own, or offering training sessions, but I never got back in contact with him, unfortunately. Great guy!

And Savage has got it… another guy who doesn’t post a ton, that I personally wish would… please do sir, and thanks for getting us back on topic!

If any of that is true Karowski is a massive asshole.

Just for the record for people that don’t know, this is Nate Robinson. Arguably at one point the most athletic person in the NBA and one of it’s most genetically gifted athletes ever. Not just your above average dude. Not even close. Also he does more than just push ups and play basketball to be in that shape.

I’m not denying that there are lean and in shape people out there who don’t lift. I see at them on my college campus at work every day. But this dude is not one of them.
Arguably nothing. Robinson is the best pure athlete in NBA history. As a little dunker myself, watching Robinson attempt a self lob off the glass FOURTEEN TIMES IN A ROW was fucking insane. That’s basically 14 40"+ jumps in 2 minutes. He was also recruited to play cornerback and decided he liked basketball better and dropped football. Oh yeah, he was also the Washington state football, basketball and track player of the year. X taking one of the most genetically gifted dudes in the history of the planet to make his point is absurd.
I watch people like him and just think about how shitty my genetics are lol. And truthly they aren’t really that bad. Just relatively speaking.
Meant to say self lob 360 off the glass. I always had favorable genetics for sprinting and jumping. Caught my first dunk at 16 and 5’7". Can still put down a 360 at 31, 5’9" with two major knee blowouts under my belt. My genetics sucked for longevity though. I’ve gone through more injuries than I can count. That’s one thing that also needs to be taken into account when discussing genetics. Some of these dudes are seemingly bulletproof.

To be fair, no matter what Kirk was, he’d be a massive version of it.

Kirk was just an intense guy… hardly an asshole. When he went to lift he had his game face on, he spent his time in the car getting mentally prepped for his workout, for going beast-mode at the weights. I think it takes a certain mentality to put 850lbs on your back and Squat it two or three times for sets.

Everyone in the gym knew who he was, all of his partners are/were over 280lbs, it wasn’t like these guys didn’t stand out. He also told the kid to move, not like it happened outright. Add in the amount of stuff he was probably taking and you’ve got a 250lb (or so) raging bull of muscle, call it an ass if you want, but that ass will rip you a new one with his bare hands.

My favorite story though, was when he told stories of the after parties from powerlifting meets. Apparently he would curl the strippers/girls and they thought it was awesome.

I’m sure Kirk would say he was an asshole. It’s not a bad thing really. Ed Coan was quoted as saying that the craziest thing he ever saw in powerlifting Was Kirk Karowksi, haha.

Kirk knew his notoriety and you’re probably right. I guess from my perspective, what I’m trying to say, was in person you got the feeling that you didn’t f with the man. At the same time, he respected people who loved his sport and would help anyone. He helped everyone there that day from the scrawniest dude to the more accomplished folks. He told stories, answered questions, and never once was a dick.

The guy he threatened at the “after party” was a cocky shit, and I’m sure after a few beers his mentality shown through. Kirk is just a no bullshit type of guy. He expects you to work hard and he will work right beside you. He’s a quality dude. I guess I have no problem with aggressive or intense people, to me that’s just passion.

wait aren’t you the guy who claimed a 495 incline press for 15 rep?

This post is hilarious in the context of the story above(the version I was told was also different, he held up a hand with 5 fingers and said ‘5 minutes’ and threw the kids shit when he wasn’t gone). Apparently he’ll help anyone, work next to anyone, help anyone ‘in the game’ … as long as they aren’t a newbie just learning the ropes in his gym.

Also this entire derail is stupid.

LOL. Great stuff. Personally I don’t care for his character, but hearing of his exploits are really entertaining.

Damn, I need to work harder.

You know red, maybe you’re right and it was the stuff and not the kid. I do remember the 5 minutes part, so the other part may be right. I wasn’t there to personally see it and its been almost 2 years since I heard the story, I don’t want to misrepresent.

The stripper part and the story at the training seminar I was at were 100% true, I got to see the kids looks of terror and quick shuffling around the room until things calmed down. Funniest part was Kirk glared at him the rest of the night, up until we said our farewells. I think part of it was to mess with the kid/guy.

And yes Bauber, work harder, we all need too!
