Trolls are out in full force last few days… god damn it.

I’ve been training consistently for 20+ years. Worked in gyms since I was 16. I have seen the biggest names in the game train (during their prime) including Troy Z., Shawn R., Boyer C., Sandy Riddell, Mary Roberts, Sue Gafner etc. One thing I have learned through maturation is this: The overall majority of the population appreciates a lean muscular physique over a smooth huge physique. Don’t get me wrong, I can appreciate a huge mass freak just as I enjoy looking at a midget in the circus, a 8 foot tall man, Siamese Twins or any oddity of nature. It’s entertaining, I get it.
Generally speaking the only people who like fat bulky bodies are other fat bulky bodied people. To each his own…not fair to criticize one for another. But deep down inside the majority of people who lift secretly want to impress other people. Smooth 18" arms with love handles will NEVER trump lean 16" arms and a six-pack. Fat dudes will hate that I said it, but to 99.9% of the population they will agree. And keep in mind there is also .1% of the population who thinks the 350lb booty mama is hotter than a ripped fitness model. To each their own but I can say this based on experience, leaner physiques are more appealing to the overwhelming masses…take it from a guy who has been there and done that.

Sorry.

Fixed
AND Obviously a lot of people appreciate a lean physique, that’s why people don’t present their OFF-SEASON physique onstage.

I am a moderator and I can delete that post, however, the moment I start to do that, we will also have to deal with the drama by trolls that the board is CENSORING them. That is why I have been giving warnings so far.
If all of you had let it end with the warning, we wouldn’t be having this discussion right now.
I always get inspired seeing pics of Tate. The fact that he still looked so beastly dieted down should be enough of an argument to the people on here who fight against the ‘getting soft’ approach to put on size.

Prof X congrats on your promotion.
OK and to not get flamed on I will contribute with a pic. As a teenager the Barbarian Brothers were my biggest inspiration, well ahead of the competitive bb’s at the time such as Sammer Bannout, Gaspari or Bob Paris. My buddy and I drove 2 hours to Golds Gym Venice and paid a guest fee to train there. And as luck would have it the Barbarians were training that day. They were beasts. They seemed to live the image too…saw one of them pick big ole booger out of his nose and wipe it under the bench. Anyway those guys always seemed to be “off-season” but even so they were reasonably lean. This is a classic pic of them, they are hard to come by.

Couple more beasts from back in the day, Ted Arcidi and Jeep Swenson. Not competitive bodybuilders, but they were all about mass/size/strength.
