Observations I Made During Bulk

Before I started bulking, I had some pretty nice definition in my arms… 8 weeks in now and I’ve noticed the definition is more or less all gone I thought it must of been some body fat that I’d picked up and thought “don’t sweat it” but my arms have remained more or less solid and I’ve been progressing pretty nicely.

Is it possible as I’m putting more muscle mass on that it just doesn’t look as defined right now?

Anyway if it is just extra bodyfat I can’t figure out why there not a significant amount of fat that I can feel in these areas.

Heres some idea of my “progress”:

Start of bulk stats:
Weight: 128lbs
waist: 28"
bicep right: 10"
forearm right: 9 1/2"
chest: 34"

Current bulk stats ( 8 weeks on ):
Weight: 135-137lbs
waist: 30"
bicep right: 12"
forearm right: 10"
chest: 34"

Now very little growth on my forearm, I do little direct forearm work right now, no chest work except push ups…
Waist increase from where I stopped the cardio during the bulk?

Anyway would you say this is a significant enough weight/size increase to kill off most of my definition?

I don’t know what your body fat is, but I read something by Thibs once how if your around 14%bf…you won’t really notice any difference at 18%, unlike 6% to 10% you definately would.

If you haven’t gotten weaker then I wouldn’t worry about it. Some people get their body fat in different areas, I have fairly little in my arms and lots in other places.

"no chest work except push ups… "

how do you expect to get stronger, wishing? lol. do you have access to a gym?

if your working out and bulking, you’ll gain muscle. (if training right and eating right too)

Ah yeah I read that too… I think it must just be a mental thing at the moment…

Nope no access to a gym…
I only have what I own.
I know its better to be in a gym but I can’t.

Start buying some weights to use at home, man!

How tall are you? 5’1" - 5’3"??? How can you be losing arm definition when your arms are so tiny to begin with and you’re so small and lean?

If you are that light then you just need to worry about gaining as much mass as you can for now…because that is pretty light even for your height.

28 to 30 inch waist seems like too much of an increase to me, you may be putting on too much fat…i’m bulking right now and my waist has yet to go up and i’ve put on a good 8 lbs or so. My guess is you need to up the intensity which might be difficult if you don’t have access to a gym.

But dude you need to not care about arm definition your arms are 12" it doesnt matter how defined they are get some size on there.

well if you can’t get to a gym try this.

got a backpack?

got some heavy shit that’ll fit in there?

done.

you can do push ups, squats, all sorts of stuff with bodyweight and then some.

its also a good idea to buy some bands (elite fitness) and you can do a ton more stuff with them without going to a gym.

good luck!

I’m about 5’7, I have 2 dumbbells and a barbell with 2 5kg plates 4 2.5kg plates and 6 1.25kg plates… I’m saving up for an olympic weight set for home.
