Well if your idea of a good time is getting people to think you’re an asshole, then you are a sad, little man.

You are the only one getting personal here and I’m not sure why. If a news story hits that 2 cops ran into a house and killed 30 babies, is PGA supposed to just ignore it and not post it? He can post whatever he wants, and if you don’t like it then don’t read it. He saw something that looked fishy and wanted to discuss it.

PGA has referred to cops as pigs in the past. That’s personal. I did get personal. PGA has personally offended many with his comments. Why is it ok for him to call a group of people a derogatory term but when I call it how I see it, I’m the bad guy?

He has no intention of “discussing” anything. He assumed the cops were at fault. He makes attacks on cops. As the story continues to unfold, he is being proven wrong, and ultimately will be wrong.

A bunch of cops didn’t go into a house and kill 30 babies. They opened fire on a vehicle that was trying to kill a cop that declared he was a cop before the vehicle moved. Very different.

I don’t support the negligent actions of individuals, but to brand a group of people for the actions of one isn’t right, yet some people on this board do it.

So far these cops have my support, 100% until it is proven that they opened fire on innocent people.

Could you explain this immaturity to me? Are you talking about the insults? Poor PGA! He was called a douchebag, for being a douchebag.

Yeah but they were shooting at a moving target with 9mm pistols, not with chain guns and sniper rifles. As the cop guy said, particularly when in a situation as this is hard to hit stuff with a sighted assault rifle let alone a 9mm pistol. 51 rounds is not much , granted, but only because it was pistols.

The issue of rounds going stray is important, hence the use of the accurate MP5 by Police is very popular as an alternative to giving them pistols. But its not practical to give cops sub machine guns.

As far as they all fired at once, in the Balkans my squad all fired at one guy who was in on the back of a flatbed lorry with a RPK. We all hit him and he must have had about 30 wounds. That included two guys working a gpmg podded machine gun. That basically happens as you don’t hold a meeting to agree who will shoot someone, everyone goes for it. Most people would call it brutal or ruthless or evil or something. Without exercising common sense.

I wasn’t referring to ‘nanny nanny boo boo’ stuff. You do seem to get extremely frustrated when people do not agree with you. Also, you refuse to admit that your personal experience colors your perception of the events just like it does for everyone else. You are not “right” just because you think you are.

Anyway, this post really had no point (obviously) so feel free to ignore it.

How old are you?

So what were the cops investigating in the strip club? Most likely drugs. As long as we send men with guns into these situations there are going to be fuck ups. Sounds like the driver of the car panicked and sounds like the cops panicked.

Last week cops got into a gun battle with a 90 year old woman. She probably thought she was being robbed. Cops were investigating drugs.

Send men with guns into places where honest citizens go and there are going to be shootings of honest citizens. As long as we have the war on drugs there will be innocent people killed by nervous cops. We should not be asking the cops to do this of thing.

Mid twenties. But that doesn’t matter. Go look at the “Which Martial Art” thread. I had a disagreement with a gentleman there. We agreed to disagree and went on about it like men. I don’t get frustrated with people if they don’t agree with me. I didn’t really get frustrated, I just thought he was a douchebag, and needed to hear it. Plain and simple. How can you know if I’m frustrated or not? You can’t see my face. You can’t hear my tone. Believe me when I say that I can tell someone off without showing any aggression at all.

My personal colors? Not all my experiences with cops have been friendly. I’ve been on the hood before, answering questions. I didn’t have a problem with it because I didn’t have anything to hide. They got a report of someone in the area with my general description, and I was questioned, and then released without incident. There have been other times where I’ve been questioned because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It’s their job to ask questions. Sometimes they have to ask hard. Believe it or not, some people lie to the police to avoid getting in trouble. I know, I know, I didn’t believe it at first either.

My brother was harassed and roughed up by the police once too, but I’m not going to go blame the entire organization for one guy’s actions. That’s foolish. The cop was dealt with by his superior’s, and justice was served.

Those are SOME of my personal colors.

No one here is blaming the entire organization. Is it wrong to point out a situation that smells fishy and say “this smells fishy”? Isn’t that our right? If all the facts came out and I was proven wrong I would say “wow I guess I was wrong, but that still smelled fishy and I’m glad I asked questions.”

Of course it is your right to call another person a naughty word, but it just seems counterproductive.

Shaved, I quoted this because its exactly how I feel.

NDM, I wasn’t trying to refer to your “true colors”… I was trying to say that we, as individuals ALWAYS experience (read: perceive) identical situations differently. In reality, there almost isn’t such a thing as an identical situation, as your past experience(s) will dictate how you filter and assimilate the information being presented to you. Imagine any given situation being a page from a blank coloring book. It is your past and underlying beliefs that determine how you color that page. Everyone can experience the ‘exact same thing’ but walk away from it with completely different recollections of what happened.

[/drivel]

I just think it is terrible that an innocent person died. Did the cops act (in)appropriately? I dunno… but I would hope that we can all agree that 1)cops are necessary and 2)the cops COULD and most likely should have handled the situation better.
Digital Chainsaw wrote:

You think for yourself…that really pisses some people off.

This whole story stinks. It’s very possible that both sides were wrong.

The amount of rounds does not bother me, it bothers me that the NYPD is so quick to use deadly force.
Shaved wrote:
If I were in this situation and I were leaving a club/bar in a shitty neighborhood and half a block away I was surrounded by a van and guys in regular clothes who by all accounts never addressed themselves as police, I would get the fuck out of dodge.

I certainly wouldn’t sit in my car and let them surround me, I would floor it just like he did. What the hell was he supposed to do? I highly doubt “kill his guy” was his thought as he floored it, the guy walked in front of his damn car in an attempt to block it and the driver panicked.

These poor sons a bitches had no clue these were cops, they probably thought they were going to get robbed. These cops made no attempt at identifying themselves.

These guys did not hit a cop, they hit one of many guys in regular clothes who were trying to surround his car in again, a bad neighborhood.
Exactly, Most of us on this board would have done the same thing.

I actually have.

I would like to know how many drinks the cops had during the “stakeout”.
Dirty Tiger wrote:

I was wondering the same thing.

Some good points have been made. I hope no one thinks that I labeled everyone on this thread as a “cop hater”. I only labeled one person that.

Anyway, I don’t see the point of arguing about this anymore. I voiced my opinion. Some of you didn’t like it. Some of you agreed with me. That’s how life is. I’m not holding anything against anyone that had a different opinion than me, other than the OP because he insulted cops everywhere. That’s just not going to fly with me.

I’m sure this story won’t be in the news again, because the cops are going to be acquitted, and good news about the police doesn’t make headlines.
NDM wrote:

This is pretty true. It is sad that the majority of the news we ever hear about law enforcement is bad.

If it bleeds it leads.

But this doesn’t mean we should ignore the bad news we hear.

I heard that they didn’t think there was any other way to keep him from getting married.
