Nutrition Help for a Football Player

All right. I’ve tried to fix up what I’m eating. Not eating junk food and soda but I’ve never really been organized with dieting. I want to be organized now. I need help in constructioning a diet which can be around 3000. I’m not really trying to gain weight or lose weight. I’m just trying to maximize my performance with weightlifting and overall health. If anything I want to lose some bodyfat. I’m 5’11 and change, I weight 218 but my weight changes between the day from 215-223 for some reason depending on how much water I drink and food I eat. I just need help in making a diet. My mom will buy the food for me and she also wants me to fix the way the family eats and make everyone eating healthy. Can this be possible with my athletic diet and family stuff. I’m more for just getting better performance and their more for losing weight.

What I was thinking but still need a lot help on it.
Meal 1 Oatmeal
Meal 2 Ham sandwhich
Meal 3 What ever my mom cooks for dinner
Meal 4 Protein Shake
Meal 5 Peanut butter sandwhich
Meal 6 Yougurt and a bannanna

The main thing will be not only eating for performance but overall health. They will run =hand in hand.

I say for you and your family start with the seven habits stuff: and then move on from there once you get that nailed.

For an athlete the number one concern should be caloric intake. Between practices, lifting, etc. you are going to burn a ton of calories every day, if you don’t replenish them your energy will suffer. Eating the right foods is important, but eating enough of the right foods is more important.
