November Boxing

I don’t recall who trained Ali, but he’s got a wicked left hook to the body. Really digs it in. Warren I have not seen fight yet.

He’s the potential to be a champion. From the footage I’ve seen he’s a decent boxer with power. Warren has some serious hand speed, foot speed, power, and can box. Unfortunately he’s 5’4 and I can’t see him going above 126.

I’m glad I finally decided to check this thread out. I can readily admit to being too much of an MMA/MT head to give boxing the attention it deserves. I just don’t understand all the different organizations and such. Too much. I am interested in the movement and the “little things” that make boxers so good at what they do. I’ll definitely be doing my homework and asking you guys for some input, if that’s cool with you. Take care.

Pac is gonna eat some leather this weekend. He’s overconfident and under conditioned, IMO.

Pac had poor training camps before and Roach never made any mention of it, I’m thinking they’re hyping up the possibility of an upset. Jerry Jones and Bob Arum want to sellout the stadium, they need a strong PPV, and Marg has been out for awhile so the casual fans wont really know much of him. That and after a fight as horrible as Pac/Clottey they need to assure fans that this will be a fight and not a sparring match.

Most of the time when trainers and fighters make excuses it’s at the fighter meeting, going public like this is really suspicious. That or they just make the excuses in the ring after they’ve just lost.

The motivation behind the organizations is really just to make more money. The NBA/WBA was the only organization around, then the WBC got into boxing and made good money, and the rest followed. All of the sanctioning bodies have their own rankings of fighters, belts, and champions.

So does anyone have final predictions on Pac-Margo? Any change of opinions after seeing their training, etc.?

I’m going with Pac. Marg is going to be just as drained and sluggish as he was against Garcia, Pac will just be too fast and with too much stamina for him.

If anyone is betting on this fight then it’d be smart to put some money down in case there’s an upset. However, 24/7 is a show meant for entertainment so I wouldn’t be placing any bets based off of what’s on the show. The biggest factor in this fight, in my opinion, is whether or not Pac tries to test Marg. If, and I mean IF he lays on the ropes trying to see if he can take shots from Marg then he’ll be in trouble.

Margarito weighed in at 154 last week on the show- and he looked about as ripped as one person could possibly be. When he stepped on the scale, you could see very vein and bone in his feet and legs. I’ve never seen someone look like that.

I wasn’t believing you before about him being drained, but knowing that he’s got to LOSE four more pounds, while Pac is actually staying comfortably at his own weight, leads me to think that this is going to be alot more like DLH-Pacquiao then people think.

Well on the first show they said he weighed 158 but it’s after he’d a workout with a sauna suit on, so he was pretty well dehydrated. I’m thinking the second “weigh in” is also after losing water weight. So when you think about it he already is about as low as he can get and he’s still 154.

I see him fasting leading up to the weigh in and having to take some time to drop the water weight.

Was waiting for a replay of Matthysse v. Judas but didn’t get one. Doesn’t sound like something I’d be itching to watch anyway. Guess Judah won’t be dominating the division any time soon.

I was happy to hear about Johnson v Green but am now actually starting to feel sorry for Allan. Regardless of what he tries to make himself think, he just isn’t world class.

Anyone see/have an opinion on Marquez v. Lopez?

Lopez let his ego get the best of him and he let Marquez tag him with big shots, he also used some rough tactics. Not a bad fight though.

Lopez Marquez was really exciting. Both guys got hurt, and there were some close rounds. I was rooting for Lopez, and happy with the result, but he did push down on Marquez’s head a bit more than I would have liked. It was a much better fight than Green vs Johnson, but I do like the little guys better. I hope Lopez kills Gamboa!

Anyone saying Manny isn’t focused has their head up their ass…

Manny is always singing on Jimmy Kimmel’s show before or after fights. Whenever they say Manny is having a bad camp, I just think they’re trying to sell the fight.
If Mannys head is right, he’ll KO a drained Margarito in 7 rounds. If not, heck, anything can happen. Wouldn’t be surprised Margarito catching him on the chin too.
