What are ITYs? Youtube revealed nothing useful…[/quote]
Basically a front raise, rear raise and a raise to the 10-2 position all done as a giant set while lying face down on an incline bench. A lot easier to say I,T,Ys, lol. Still, they’re not as good as T.I.Ts.
T.I.Ts have been shown to encourage testosterone production in males, so everyone should include them in their programming. Science.
HTS Week 11 Day 1
July 18th edition
Box squat w/ light bands 245x5x2
Olympic squats 265x2x8
-had to bail after this
Summary: Had to make this an abbreviated session tonight; hopefully I will get to finish the rest of the stuff up tomorrow. First set of box squats sucked, but the remaining sets all felt OK. Piriformis wasn’t giving me any grief either. I haven’t squatted for more than a couple of reps for maybe a month or more and I felt it after the two sets with 265. My luck I’ll end up sore as hell, too, lol.
HTS Week 11 Day 2
July 21st
CG bench press (short pause) 305x1,315x1,325x1 (PR)
CG 3-board bench press 315x2x3
DB paused bench press 80x16,12
I,T,Ys 10x3x10
Pushdowns 5x15
Hammer curls 40x3x10
Summary: Solid bench session today. I had my eye on getting 315 on close grips because it was almost three years since I had done that. After that went up pretty easily, training partner grinned and just threw on 10 more pounds. I still had a bit more in the tank, which tells me I have made some progress on my bench. Damn ITYs.
Nice work bro. Hard work pays off and feels great when its done.
Bang! thats a hell of CGBP!
FUCK YOU ITYS!
HTS Week 11 Day 3
July 22nd
Rack pull (mid-shin) w/u to 495x1
BB step ups 3x10
Barbell rows 225x3x12 (had to sub out db rows today)
KB cleans 35x3x10
Pull-ups BWx3x10
Summary: Went to my training partner’s house to lift today. He bought a spiffy new rack and other equipment so we had to break it in with something good. Rack pulls fit the bill. We did these from hole #2, which is mid-shin, and that was a tough place to start. Step ups had the quads burning, big time. Paul does seriously need to buy a fan for his garage because training in Northern Virginia heat and humidity is not fun.
Mid shin is tougher than the floor sometimes. Good work.
HTS Week 12 Day 1
July 25th
Deload-ish
Olympic squats 225x3;275x3;315x3
Front squats 185x5;225x5;275x1
Leg presses 4x12
Ab pulldowns 3x8
Cable side bends 3x8
Summary: Last week my training partner noticed my left side was lagging behind coming out of the hole on squats and it is more than likely due to my piriformis issue. I really don’t want this thing to turn into a full-blown issue so we decided to back it down and just do a few lighter sets with quality reps this week. Also brought my stance in, which seemed to help a lot. Front squats were on the fly and since it had been almost 3 months since I did them last, I just wanted to see if I could still do a halfway decent weight without straining much and 275 was fairly easy. Doubt 315 would have gone up, but a couple of weeks front squatting it’d be fine.
NICE bench. My 140kg bench feels very weedy compared to a 325lb close grip now!
HTS Week 12 Day 2
July 28th
Paused bench press w/u to 295x3
CG half-foam press 275x2x5,9
Chest-supported rows w/u to 3.5 plates x8
Pushdowns 5x12
Hammer curls 3x8
Summary: Semi-deload continued today. The top set of paused bench was pretty easy, but still hate the bench at the gym. I was just going to do 3 sets of 5 with the CG half-foam, but the first two were light and easy so I decided to do a rep-out set (well, not quite rep-out). Good solid session, not too easy not too hard.
Don’t know how I missed this log. There’s some good lifting going on here!

Thanks cap. As long as I can keep this piriformis deal under control, things should go well.
Nice work dude, I cant stand my bench at my gym either, its impossible not to press it out of the rack.
HTS Week 13 Day 1
August 1st
Squat w/u to 365x2* (see below)
Speed pulls (against light bands) 295x8x1
Lying leg curls 4x15
Pulldown abs 3x6
Summary: I have zero strength coming out of the hole now on squats. None. The left side of my hip has just completely given up on me. I was supposed to do a triple with 365, but the second rep was practically a grinder and had I tried the 3rd one there was a way better than even chance that I would have been crushed. So I just racked it and decided to bag the box squats, too, because coming off the box with any amount of oomph wasn’t happening. The speed pulls went great and I sneaked in a couple of extra singles because they felt good and presented no problems. Now Adam is going to have to figure out a work-around for me until shit gets better.
I am having squat issues as well, only my problem is straight out weakness. It looks like lots of guys in here are doing HTS. Are you liking the programing?
I really like the programming, because it is very similar to the way I would set up my own training cycles, with some added wrinkles such as not running myself into the ground, lol. I might put more emphasis on full-body sessions, but an S-B-D split like I’m doing now works for me, too.
I’m guessing squats will be on the back burner for a bit.
sorry to hear this dude. Im sure he will come up with something to occupy squat time…tricep kickbacks perhaps?
