looks like your post with the results of the meet got deleted. who knows why - there was nothing in it objectionable that I saw.

Yah, I saw the post before, now it is gone. This happened with Hel’s christmas post a few weeks ago as well. A copy of the post is in the PL section in the training records thread, for those who are interested.

jjackkrash - thanks for the info

MM - wow and congrats.

Sorry I wasn’t more clear. Congratulations to all. Over 500 raw is a milestone accomplishment. Puts you in with a whole different category of lifter.

Awesome job, meat!

that’s weird… here it is again.

hit a meet PR of sorts today.

Me, my guys and VTballa34 from this site did a bench meet today. This was the first time that i met him and he’s a cool guy with a lot of potential. He’s also a fucking house. the dude is 6’5" and 280. with a little work the dude is going to be a beast.

anyway… this is what i did.

opened with 500lbs. felt light but the pad on the bench was a little loose and as i drove off my chest i tilted to the side a bit but still locked it out strong- good lift. that got my mind going so i went a little conservative on my second. i had planned to go to 520 but i opted to go for 510.

second attempt at 510 flew up faster than the first- good lift
third attempt went to 520-left arm locked out but couldn’t quit lockout the right. i would have had it as a second attempt. oh well… still very happy.

my training partner Dave, who just turned 50 hit 420 on his second attempt and just missed 435 on his third… very awesome

VTBalla34 hit a very respectible 350 on his third. I told him that if i worked with him on form, i’d have him benching 400 in his first session. He’s got a ton of raw strength. he just need to work on making it a whole body lift.

side note, Bill Gillespie competed in the meet. the dude is in his 50’s and he hit an 800lb equipped bench. He’s a very personable guy and very gracious.

time to get back to the gym.

thanks Hel. i don’t know why it got deleted.

yeah… i’ve been chasing an over 500 for awhile. 520 should have been mine…next time.

thanks everyone!!!

it really means a lot that you folks follow along and give me so much support.

this is a great place!!!

Congratulations on your 510 and almost 520 bench!

Good pressing, nice you broke the barrier.

Congrats on the Meat PR! Shout out to your friend Dave as well -at only 47, I guess I still have time until I reach my physical peak at 50.

Thats a hell of meet bench meat, congrats.

I’m late to the party but congratulations!!! You’re a stud.

The only way the 510 news could have been better, was if it was accompanied by video. Great job!

Congrats to Dave. He’s making 50 look good and strong.

Well now, I wouldn’t be an accomplished stalker if I didn’t stick my head up out of my little burrow and offer congratulations.

Nice to see you break a significant barrier. Also, not bad for and old guy…haha.

Keep the momentum.

GRATS on breaking thru Brother! I hope to hit 500 before I’m 50!

The great thing about being a BOF is that i don’t have to take a week off of training after a meet. I didn’t actually do any real work so i’m back at it.

just started a bench cycle. i’m happy with the starting weights on the movements.

Foam Press- whole foam
135x6
225x6
315x6
405x4
495x2
545x1- good starting point. i’m hoping to finish the cycle with something around 600lbs. these will be done completely raw with a more narrow grip.

pause bench-narrow grip
405x1
455x1

lockouts- close grip
315x4
405x4
495x4
545x4- was supposed to do two sets of these but my shoulder started to hurt some

standing calf raise

some x 200 rest/pause

good stuff.
