i train a different muscle group each day. if i add another bicep routine to my week will it interfere with my bench press later on in the day?

i’m not sure we would all be allowed in a theatre together.

i’m giddy as a school girl thinking about this movie. it better not suck.

why do you train a different muscle group each day?? i find that the typical- train push muscle groups together and pull muscle groups together with plenty rest in between the best way to go.

and yes… if you train biceps before heavy bench, it will interfere with bench. i train bench (pecs), shoulders and triceps early in the week and then later in the week i train upper back and biceps. i find it better to train push movements earlier in the week and then pulling stuff later. but then again, i’m a BOF.

thanks maraudermeat, different muscle groups each day is the way i was taught four years ago when i started lifting. i like the idea of hitting each muscle group with different exercises and angles. i can do that better if i concentrate on a single muscle. i know about push-pull training, but would i hit every muscle? there is a local bench press competition coming in november that i am starting to train for.

everything is looking good and i make steady gains but i think my triceps make my bicep look week. i will add another bicep routine to back day and try a pull workout. please let me know what you think, am i missing something?

send me an outline of what you are doing and what you are planning to do and i’ll give you my 2 cents. i’m sure other guys here can give you some great advice as well… just don’t let Pete tempt you to the really Darkside.

Based on the trailer you linked, The Expendables looks to have the flavor of The Magnificient 7 to it. Mag 7 is of course one of the all time great movies.

We need videos of the “tire throws”!

Great stuff, I’m loving the mix of conditioning stuff you’ve added. Are you allowed to toss the tire so it rolls or throwing it so it lands flat?

you keep this conditioning stuff and you’ll lose your muscle-bear fan-base.

Impressive stuff though, meat: 4 100-yard trips with a sled in tall grass? You don’t do things half-way…

Scotto, I’m pretty sure meat throws the tire whatever distance he’s aiming for.

Good Conditioning Scott. Have you ever tried loading a barbell with 145 go to a field (2x25’s a side with collars) and just pick it up and throw rinse, rather and repeat. The 25’s help to not gouge the earth. Overhead, chest press, keg throws etc… That is lots of fun.

Again good job man.

chest and triceps day.

i’m going to go back to doing partial- top end movements and go supramaximally then drop back to my full ROM stuff. I find that i get warmed up better and then the working sets feel lighter.

warmup- 4 board bench press- paused
135x6
315x4
405x4
495x2
545x1
585x nada. was going to stop at 545 but it felt way too easy. 585 didn’t feel heavy but i brought it down way to high. i thought about giving it another shot but this is supposed to be a warmup, not working sets.

full ROM bench- paused

315x8- easy…as it should be

dumbell incline press
80’s x 10
100’s x 10
120’s x 10- will move up to 140’s next week.

pec dec-

some x 100 r/p

tricep pushdowns supersetted with kickbacks

some x 20 x 2 some x 20 x 2

seated calf raise- started with 1 plate for 6 reps. long pause at top and bottom and added 10lbs with no rest for 15 sets.

thanks hoss… yeah… i basically pray that it’s going to bounce and roll. we throw it so it flips though so it doesn’t roll very much. but when it does, it’s definitely a bonus.

once a Bear, always a Bear. Or at least that’s what i’ve heard.

it was tough. the toughest part was finding the sweet spot on where to hold the towing strap. if you hold it too far back, i don’t feel like i have much control over it. if you choke up too much the back end plows through the grass and creates even more friction. i definitely like throwing it over a shoulder and pulling though. i feel like a pussy for using the harness before.

as long as i clear my big head i’m happy.

i haven’t tried that. unfortunately i don’t own any bars but i may have to get one. i’m hoping that my duffle bags get here before the weekend. i’m really looking forward to picking up, carrying and throwing them.

this shit becomes addictive.

tuesday-bench press/ wednesday-deadlift/ thursday-legs&shoulders (sqaut, leg extensions, calf raises, military press, upright row, lateral raises)/ friday-back&bicep (chin ups, dumbell row, barbell shrug, seated row, preacher curl, concentration curl, seated dumbell curl) tuesday and wednesday i go to a friends house, this is all we have eqiupment for but he pushes me and i am gaining. thursday and friday i go to a gym. saturday i try to go and do tricep and anything i think needs hit better that week.right now i think my triceps are making my bicep look bad so i dont worry if i miss saturday once every two or three weeks. i would like to do more chest exercises but for chest the main concern right now is bringing up my one rep max. like i said, i will try to do friday like a pull routine. thanks again for your help, let me know if there is anything i should do different

I think there is an old bar at my parents I could take. I think its just a couple feet shorter than a normal olympic one but I’m sure that wouldnt matter.

This stuff is addictive. I look forward to carrying stuff around outside more then squating/benching/deadlifting now. I’m picturing long zercher carries with Joweees bar. Those would hurt a lot.
