OP- things that increase my appetite- leg training twice a week with high rep squats/ deads, walking, light activity, afternoon naps, vegetable juice- 30mins later l am starving, looking through cookbooks lol, and most importantly eating- the more I eat… the more I eat.
If you want to increase your appetite, find out what things increase your appetite then do them, it is that SIMPLE, then you will have a harder time not eating.
To everyone who likes to say “just eat more cos you have to” I get it, but why not find ways to make things easier
Thanks for your constructive criticism.
I would have protein shakes every three hours, but I have too many school bills at the present to be affording 5lb tubs every week.
I’ve already put on 15 pounds since January, and I’m hoping this forum provides motivation enough for me to continue packing on the lbs.

Technically 5lbs of protein will cost you something like 60$ and at 3 scoops/shakes per day that will last you a month. Or you can calculate it at around 83 cents per shake. A shake will provide you the amount of protein equivalent to around 6oz of steak (which will cost you 3-5$).

Thanks coach. It doesn’t sound all that bad when you put it this way.
Also I use the leucine powder when I can purchase it. What’s your take on that?
LS87 - Veggie juice … interesting. Thanks for the tips. Much appreciated.
I don’t feel all that qualified to give advice in this area but just in case it helps, a little bit of fasted cardio in the morning gives me a ravenous appetite and I’ve heard others say the same.
I can go and burn ~300 calories in the morning and be hungry enough to devour 1000.
Man, maybe you’re tired from drinking a gallon of whole milk a day. That’s 2400 cals right there, and if you’re eating just 3 other solid meals at 5-hundo cals a piece you’re still getting 4,000 cals a day. While not on the scale of some of the bigger boys, that’s still a fair amount. Also, if you’re making gains then you are eating enough.
if you’re having “spells” of lack of appetite, and are consistently working hard in the gym 4-5 times a week, i’d say something might be going wrong. lifting hard should make you pretty hungry, if not immediately after, atleast a few hours later… are you overly stressed recently? there could be a lot of different reasons/disorders for a lack of appetite, go to a doctor explain the symptoms have them run some organ function and blood tests to see if everything is working properly.
for bodybuilding purposes im sure just forcefeeding yourself would work, but, to me, a lack of appetite for a serious lifter is a sign that something isnt going quite right.
I’ve been lacking an appetite and some energy lately… I put it down to not eating enough, but it turned out I just had some digestion problems (had some unpleasent situations for a couple of days).
Once that cleared up, my appetite came back and so did my energy.
I know that ‘you are not eating enough’ is a good answer for MOST people, but sometimes there are other reasons why you aren’t feeling your best.
