I’d like to enter myself if someone could remind me how to insert a picture.

Not that I DON’T want Recluse to get to train with Zraw, because he’s extremely polite and seems to have his head on straight… But I feel you’re kind of on your way man. You seem to making great progress already, while Zraw may be looking for someone to basically start from the bottom up with kind of. I could be wrong though.[/quote]
I agree.
I’m going to vote for chobbs. Jtownlax, canee, and chobbs all seem like good candidates. Jtown is the least developed and it may be hard to gauge progress since he is clearly growing a ton still, but if that is what Julien is looking for then perfect. Canee would be a good candidate as well but I’ll give the edge to chobbs since he’s been with T-Nation longer. ![]()
In terms of us spectators, I think the most noticeable long-term results will be seen with chobbs due to his age (not too young) and the fact that he already has a decent starting base, presumably from HS football. He’s lean and clearly goes to the gym at least a few times a week.
Appreciate it, if anyone needs any more info or pictures just let me know.

Yeah i had a feeling that would affect my chances lol =[. Either way whoever get’s chosen , we’ll all be able to learn . Can’t wait for this to start already.
Sorry for not tagging this with my picture but I should be chosen for a few reasons.
- I’m a college student who has plenty of free time
- Even though I am a student, I have sufficient funds to buy the needed food
3.I feel like I have at least average potential - I have a baseline level of intelligence on training/nutrition but could certainly grow a lot more
- I have tremendous self-discipline
- At my disposal, I have a D1 training facility with multiple power racks, bands, machines, cables etc etc
- I’m committed to long term goals (3+ years)
TRAINING:
Squat: 295x4, been told I go too low from a guy I have alot of respect for (525x2 at 185 BW)
Dead: no clue right now, but pulled 335x9, 405x1 last summer
Bench: 265
Military: 150
Pullups: 15+
Dips: BW+45x 8
Height: 6’2"
Weight: 205
id love an opportunity like this im 37 sigh ![]()
anyone inerested in training me id love the chance have never been trained by anyone before not even a convo except what i read here etc ![]()
would post pics/vids everything if needed…
I’m 18 years and my weight is 178 pounds at 6’2". I’m graduating from high school in 3 months, and my hobbies are training, video games and the occasional cold beer. I have always been skinny and tall and it was a lot worse than now before i started training. I’ve been in and out of the gym for some time, but like a lot of other young guys with access to the internet i’ve been changing programs constantly and taking long breaks.
My first somewhat serious encounter with a training program was with Stronglifts, which i did for 6 months, but due to a shitty diet and terrible form on the lifts i still ended up weak and skinny albeit somewhat bigger than before. I stopped doing stronglifts over a year ago, but haven’t really been training since.
Now, i’ve been training consistently for about 2 months and i’m ready to make some damn progress for once. Regarding diet i have some say in what i eat, even though i still live at home. We usually have canned fish, eggs, and chicken, making it possible to eat a somewhat sensible diet.
I’m still pretty weak and here are some of my lifts:
Squat: 85kgx5(187 pounds)
Bench: 70kgx5(155 pounds)
Press: 50kgx3(110 pounds)
I haven’t deadlifted heavy for a long time, since it bothers my back, i guess it’s due to the fact that I can’t keep a straight back from the floor. I have pulled 150kg(330 pounds) a long time ago, and i guess i could pull around 140kg(300 pounds) now, with bad form.
Back:
Greetings everybody!
This is my first time posting in this forum, or any other lifting forum for that matter. I haven't posted so far in order to ask questions because whenever I have a given question, I manage to find answers by searching on youtube, lurking some forum or just doing a google search. I'm mentioning this because I don't want to seem like some guy who isn't serious about his goals and only applied to this thread in hopes of some quick transformation, only to disappear after a week or two. So please hear me out.
I'm 19 years old, 5 ft 11', weigh 166 lbs. Back when I was 14, I was obese but I managed to lose about 60 lbs. The problem was I didn't lift while I lost the weight, so as a result I ended up skinny fat, and I mean really skinny fat, I had the lean body mass of basically an anorexic yet I was above 20% body fat(see the pic of me before I started lifting). I looked grotesque, people would give me shit about how skinny I was, yet when they would see me without my shirt on, they would call me fat, lol. I became determined to change my body, Although now I don't look as horrible, my results aren't good for the time I have been training so I'm disappointed about that.
In spite of the fact that I have been going to the gym regularly for the past year and a half, I ended up not making much progress in the first year because I was listening to the wrong people for information. I was told that if I eat at maintenance and lift, I will lose fat and gain muscle at the same time... all i did was spin my wheels that way, for a whole year. I was also doing a body part split which isn't ideal for my situation.
In the past 6 months I got a better idea of how to train and eat by doing as much research as I can, most of the progress that I made in the photos of me now was made in these 6 months. I don't know how much of an impressive transformation I will make because my body fat percentage is still somewhat high, I'm not like those lean beginners who start off skinny but at like 8% body fat, who can go on a long bulk and by the end of it, even if they gain some fat, they will still be lean. I am willing to work my ass off and gain a respectable amount of muscle before I proceed with getting lean.
I haven't really seen that many body transformations that involve skinny fat people such as myself, I guess this is a tough spot to be in. However, I don't plan on quitting, I hope to change my body for the better and serve as motivation for other people who are in my situation. If you guys could help me get picked by zraw so that I can benefit from his guiding and experience, I will do whatever it takes to get the best results, and if I ever manage to get to an impressive level in terms of strength and size, I will gladly give back to this community by helping other people who need it.
As far as my lifting stats go, I can bench 175 for 5 reps, squat 275 for 5 reps and deadlift 315 for 1 rep. I would say my form is decent on these since I have been watching allot of videos by powerlifters who teach you what form to use on these lifts. Of curse, I'm sure you guys can help me improve once I start posting videos of my form. My gym has all the necessary equipment (except 2.5 lb plates which might be necessary for the progressive overload, I am willing to buy a couple and bring them to the gym with me though), I have good control over my diet and I have counted macros before. I will also make sure to regularly weigh myself, take measurements and photos.
Well, that's about it, hope you guys can help me out on this one, here are the photos:
Me before I started lifting
Edit: Sorry I'm not familiar with posting pictures in this forum, the one at the top is of me before lifting and the ones below are of me now.
This has the potential to be the most insightful/helpful thread for beginners in T-Nation history. Unless it gets fucked up via e-arguments. There’s only about a 97.5% chance of that happening, but you never know…
Will be following along.
Will the voting be taking place in this same thread?

If you don’t say it three times in the mirror we are ok.
And I agree, this is gonna be an awesome thread.
