Hello gentlemen, I have a problem that some of you may also have. It is called insomnia. I am having trouble overcoming it and wonder if there is a supplement that overcomes the loss of sleep. No not ZMA or Mel., but a pill after the fact that you have already lost sleep. I know that sleep is a required part of muscle gains and fat loss, along with a good nutrition plan and a strength training regime. Oh God I wish humans did not need to sleep. I hate sleep, just because sleep and I don??t get along, ever. I also heard that taking in some carbs (fruit, oats) will help me sleep. But won??t that lead to fat gain. I also read that taking protein shakes before bed can lead to insomnia, damm I hate saying that. I hope it is not true. As you can tell, I haven??t made any gains, have a fat midsection, skinny arms and legs, and finally absolutely no energy or focus throughout the day. I tried most of the methods to help someone get to sleep. All have failed. My only recourse is to reduce the damage already done. I will continue to spin my wheels and make no gains, but I will not quit. Imagine how overweight I would be if I did. Someone, anyone, knock me out and put me to sleep!
Uhhh… That blue bottle on the right side of the screen may be what you are looking for. You might wait to hear some testimony on how it works however.
Don’t eat immediately before bed, try to eat your last meal an hour before attempting sleep.
Carbs can make you sleepy if you are carb sensitive, but right before bed is exactly the wrong time to eat carbs. I was horrified when I read a readers digest article where an RD suggested eating cookies before bed if you had trouble sleeping.
Close your eyes and stare at whatever you happen to see there, while trying to completely clear your mind. Count sheep if you have to, but I find this distracting after a while. Try counting by 7’s to 1000, focus on your breathing, envision peaceful scenery, etc. The idea is to push everything out of your head so that your mind will relax and fall asleep. Some people seem to get this intuitively and have no trouble putting themselves to sleep… I am not one of them.
If you’re really having trouble, set a sleep time for yourself every night. The first few nights, you may have to down some NyQuil to get in the pattern, but eventually your body should adjust. I find that NyQuil stops working after a few nights anyway (this is a good thing), but by then your body should have adapted to the new, regular, sleep pattern.
There is nothing you can do to make up for lost sleep. Even if you sleep all day, you won’t make up for those 3 hours the night before. Check out Z-12. I have a bottle on the way and I have battled insomnia pretty much all my adult life. I’ll post results after a few nights.
Yep, it’s impossible to catch up on lost sleep. Ideally you should have around 7-8 hours.
I used to have insomnia a few years ago but it “sorted” itself somehow. I remember I used to do late night jogs just to try to make myself more tired. Might not be scientifically right but maybe it’ll work for you… /my two cent
aside from z-12, i use Spike to help me sleep-- in the sense that it will re-set my circadian (sp?) rhythm.
so like, take a Spike at 7 or 8 in the morning each day, then make sure ur ass is in bed by 11 each night. after a week you should get in a rythm. the problem with this is that even a couple late nights out on the wkends will fuck it up
Uncanny!! The timing of some questions? I also just ordered Z-12, hoping it is as good as advertised. I had myself so screwed up, basically addicted to excedrin p.m. I was able to get to sleep in a hurry, but felt like shit until about 10 a.m. every day. Finally got off of that, started using 5-htp which helped me, but it could be better. Sometimes I’ll pop a couple melatonin also and that helps as well.
So I’m thinking this Z-12 will be just the ticket. It will obviously need to work far superior to the 5-htp and melatonin to be worth the cost, but if it is, I’ll gladly pay.
Now that Biotest is guaranteeing (most) products I think I’ll order some Z-12 as well, try out the whole bottle, then if I don’t think it was worth the money I’ll get a refund. Sounds like a solid deal to me.
record a lecture from school or a pta meeting and watch it over and over.
no matter how rested i am, i always get knocked out in my pre-calc class… which is at 2pm.
i say you give ZMA a try, especially the one from Biotest. ive used ZMA with no results in high school, i gave it another try, with the one from Biotest, and i get some SICK rem sleep.
I can’t vouch for Z-12 specifically but I’ve tried the same combination of its ingredients that I blend myself and it is VERY effective for me. About 15-20 minutes after ingestion (empty stomach) it hits me almost like a prescription drug. Very pleasant and relaxing feeling.
And YES, I stole the chemical combo from Biotest (sorry guys). I was ordering other things from a place that had all three Z-12 components so I thought I might like to play with the ratios a bit. It was a bit cheaper than Z-12 but the added hassle of mixing and stuffing capsules cancels that out. I’ll probably buy a bottle or two of Z-12 when I order next.
Don’t forget, with the free shipping and money back guarantee you have nothing to lose if you choose to try it.

Honestly what I get from reading your post is that you are fat and you are blaming it on lack of sleep. Yes there are some reports that say you can’t gain muscle or lose fat when you are sleep deprived, but there are so many other factors involved it’s not fair to isolate that as your only reason.
You could sleep 12 hours a day but if you aren’t training right or eating right you’d still be fat. Simple as that. I was fat, not anymore, and I barely get 5 hours a sleep a night. Could I be better with more sleep? Maybe. But I never let it become an excuse to fail.
I am not advocating ignoring your insomnia. Yes you should treat that, and it would appear Z-12 is a good start, but you need to look at the entire picture and stop picking out just one thing to blame. A little more education might be in order too.
sex dude. what you need is to get some sexytime - sends me right to sleep within 30 seconds of getting my messy bit done
worth a try, and if it doesnt dont work - who cares haha.
Alcohol.
Lots of it.
Well, I have found that if I have carbs before bed, I sleep a million times better than if I have protein before bed. I mean it is a HUGE effect.
And it does not make me fat, nor do I lose muscle.
